Lakeview Apiary

Lakeview Apiary Honey & Farm. Raw pure local honey & products from the hive. Seasonally grown produce.

08/15/2026

We’re all set up at the White Stone Street Market today! 🍅🍉🍯
The tables are packed with a great late-summer harvest — fresh tomatoes, winter squash, watermelon, garlic and more, along with our Lakeview Apiary honey, beeswax candles and lip balm.
And we’ve got a little preview of something new coming this fall… homegrown luffa sponges! 🌱 We harvested our very first mature one this week, with plenty more growing in the field.
Everything we grow is produced right here on our small farm in Lancaster County, and of course our honey comes from our own bees. 🐝
Come see us at the White Stone Street Market today, stock up for the week, and check out what we’ve been growing!
Hope to see you there!

🍅 NO FILTER. NO PHOTO TRICKERY. JUST A BEAUTIFUL HOMEGROWN TOMATO. 🍅

Todd came home last night with this tomato from the farm, and honestly… I couldn’t stop looking at it. Look at that color. That shape. That beautiful little stem still attached.

This is exactly why we love growing food.
There’s something pretty special about knowing where your food comes from — knowing it was planted, cared for, watched over, and picked right here by someone in our own community. And this is just the beginning of tomato season. 🍅

If you’ve been waiting for those local, farm-fresh tomatoes, we’d love to see you at one of the markets where we’ll be selling our produce this season.

Todd has also been working hard rebuilding our website, and it now makes it easy to see where you can find Lakeview Apiary & Farm, which markets we’ll be attending, and what we’re bringing with us.

Come find us at a market near you! ❤️

We’re proud to grow it here in Lancaster County VA and share it with our neighbors.

Shop local. Know your farmer. Eat what’s in season. 🍅🌱

Ever wonder where a natural luffa sponge comes from?
Believe it or not, it starts as a vine... not unlike a cucumber.
These luffa gourds have been quietly climbing their trellis all summer here at Lakeview Apiary, and some are already over two feet long. They may look green now, but they'll stay on the vine until they mature, dry, and their interiors transform into the natural sponge many people use in the kitchen, bath, and workshop.
Unlike synthetic sponges, luffas are a renewable, plant-grown product that can be composted when they've reached the end of their life.
If Mother Nature cooperates over the next couple of months, we're hoping to have Lakeview Apiary-grown luffa sponges available this fall and throughout the holiday season.
I'll keep posting updates as they mature—it's a fascinating process to watch.
Have you ever used a real luffa sponge before?

Stuffed pattypan squash made dinner feel a little fancy.

Pattypan is tender, mild, and perfect for stuffing — kind of like a little edible bowl. If you see these at market, don’t be afraid of them. They’re easier to use than they look.

This one was stuffed with a crab-cake-style filling and baked until the top got nice and golden. Definitely a good way to use summer squash when you want something a little different.

Recipe in the comments if anyone wants to try it.

🌱 Todd's been busy on the farm, and we've got some beautiful fresh-picked produce headed to the Urbanna Farmer's Market.

This week's harvest includes beets, bunching onions, Swiss chard, hardneck garlic, garlic scapes, and spring onions—all hand-picked right here on our farm.

Our bees are a big part of what we do, so everything is grown with them in mind every step of the way. 🐝💚

We look forward to seeing everyone at the market and sharing another fresh harvest from our farm!
