I try to be as zero waste as possible- so yesterday I decided that I need to stop wasting what is inside my bowls after making bread. IN TO THE COMPOST IT GOES! 🤣

I doubt it was on there long enough to do anything but if you don't think my anxiety is a little heightened today, you'd be wrong. 🤣 I did an extra check on the kids just incase....toes, armpits, inside the legs, behind the ears, pretty much their entire bodies.

Sorry kids, you don't get much bodily autonomy when mom has to worry about lyme and alpha gal. 🙃🫠

I did also manage to bake my regular 4 loaves of bread and finally used up the rest of the kale my neighbor brought me. we did ham steak with kale, onion and potato- one pot dish and it was delicious! 😊

Now I'm just tired. 😴 Keep our neighbors bestest pup in your thoughts for quick healing! Thankfully, there were only 1 or 2 holes by her mouth. 🥹

WE HAVE CROWS!!! I mean, I see them around frequently, but I've never actually seen one hanging specifically around the chicken run. Honestly, I'm all for it. YES, I know that parasites and disease can be spread that way- but I choose to free range and take those risks. And then I treat them accordingly. 😊 I'd rather have chickens who produce free-range eggs with a high quality of life over chickens trapped in a run their whole lives. 🤷‍♀️

It still doesn't have walls or a finished roof...but I had to start using the space for some things. 🙃😂

One day this space will be the new coop and it will have built in brooder spaces so that everyone can live in the same space. Right now, all the adults are still in the old tiny coop and this space is just a brooder/hatching/holding area.

My entire yard is a hill, in here they have flat flooring to sit on...even if it still leaks when it rains. 😆🤷‍♀️

Feeding back eggs is a great treat for your birds. 🥚 Lots of people worry about it turning their chickens into a bunch of egg eaters though. I have not found that to be the case with hardboiled eggs. So, here is how I do it. 😊
