Nine years ago today, we bought our farm. I still remember the day vividly. The fear of the loan amount I was signing with what is now my most expensive pen. And I’m still in awe of what that decision set in motion.
In nine years, we’ve built — literally. New fencing, building projects, equipment upgrades, and a growing cattle herd that competes in the show ring and fuels bodies and minds.
But the things I’m most proud of can’t be measured in acres or head count.
We’ve grown as people. As community members. In confidence and in calling. We’ve messed up along the way. We’ve fought with each other while working cattle (and continue to…who hasn’t?! 😅), gotten impatient, lost sleep over markets and weather and how the bills would get paid.
And still, it’s worth it.
Our greatest success is what we’re instilling in our kids. A work ethic. An understanding that they’re part of something bigger than themselves. A respect for the land and the animals in our care.
That’s the legacy we’re building. Together.
To our mentors, our trusted advisors, our customers, and most of all to our family: thank you.
Cheers to what’s ahead.
