Regina’s Traffic Jam!

Here’s a “Flavor” only our longest running customers would remember!

I was taking Reggie, our youngest daughter, to school, she was in second grade at the time. Traffic was a little stop-and-go for a few minutes. “Mom!” She said from her kiddie seat, “Maybe you should make Traffic Jam!” We then proceeded to laugh at her play on words.

I dropped her off, and went to the kitchen to begin making. Her joke was still playing in my head. When I finished, I noticed all the leftover ingredients from all the batches. I decided to just throw them all together and slap a label on it—“Regina’s Traffic Jam”.

It’s a moving concept, it changes every time, it’s based off of what I made for the week. Some weeks it’s pretty darn good! Other weeks, it tastes like a collision of fruit, some weeks, it’s a disaster and never made it to market.

What I can tell you is, there is pretty much no other jam in the known universe that tastes exactly like Traffic Jam

I don’t make it anymore, because I’ve become too efficient over the years and no longer have leftovers.

However, Reggie’s birthday was a couple days ago, so I decided to make a batch in her name!

What’s in this batch? Uhm…

Cherries, I think there’s some rhubarb, Strawberries, Blueberries, blackberries and a dash of Raspberry.

This is a rare occurrence! Brooks will only have six jars! Come early!

We're joining in the Corn Fest celebration this weekend with The Best Corn Salsa and Corn Cob Jelly! Stop by the Sun Prairie Farmers Market and pick up some jars of these seasonal favorites then head over to Salvatore's Tomato Pies-Sun Prairie and try their amazing Corn inspired menu...we're especially fond of the burger featuring some very tasty corn salsa!
