Common Thread CSA Common Thread CSA is a family farm in Madison, NY. We grow vegetables using sustainable methods and market locally through CSA and farmers markets.

We farm because we love working closely with the earth, and producing good, healthy food for our local communities. CSA shares are available on the farm in Madison as well as at drop off sites in Cazenovia, Cicero, Clinton, Dewitt, Fairmount, Fayetteville, Manlius, Syracuse and Utica. June-November, you can find our booth at:
Clinton Farmers Market, Thursdays, 10 am- 4 pm
Fayetteville Farmers Market, Thursdays, 3-7 pm
Hamilton Farmers Market, Thursdays, 8 am- 1 pm

Went across the creek to explore the edge of the wetland again yesterday and discovered that the iris back there is blue flag! Also saw cool purple avens pods and sedges. The last picture is the hairy beardtongue patch we planted last year on the farm . So pretty!

Fun walk behind the creek the other day! I found blooming hawthornes and nanny berries, some neat sedges, water or purple avens which I thought looked like prairie smoke and turns out to be in the same genus, I think an iris but still waiting for it to flower so I can ID it, various willow shrubs which continue to be very hard to ID but fun to watch them change though the seasons and a caterpillar enjoying red osier dogwood
