This baler has been giving me trouble! 😂

After chasing down the roller and belt tracking problem, I finally got everything fixed and back in business. 🚜🔧

Sometimes the job is fixing the equipment before you can get back to the actual job.

Well… I got outsmarted by chickens this morning. 😂🐓

The shelter was sitting on uneven ground and created a small gap along the back wall. Apparently, it was just big enough for the chickens to crawl underneath.

I pulled up this morning and half the birds in one shelter were running around outside.

Luckily they hadn't gone far and I got everyone back where they belonged.

You can plan everything on a farm… and the chickens will still find the one thing you missed. 😂

While the chickens are out on pasture, our cattle are doing what cattle do best—grazing.

One of the things we love about raising multiple species is being able to use the land in different ways. The cattle graze the pasture while the chickens follow behind, getting fresh ground and doing their part of the cycle.

It’s not just about raising animals. It’s about learning how to work with the land and build a healthier farm system.

And yes, those cattle definitely know where that mineral barrel is. 😂

Have you ever wondered how 225 chickens get from the brooder to pasture? 🐓🌱

This morning we brought our final batch of chickens out to the farm and got them settled into their pasture shelter.

In this video, I show you how we transport them and get them unloaded and settled in. Tomorrow begins their first move onto fresh pasture, and from there they’ll be moved to fresh ground every morning.

Follow along as we raise this batch from the pasture all the way to processing day.
