🌾 Ever wondered how flour is made?

Today we're taking whole wheat berries and turning them into fresh flour right in our kitchen using our KitchenAid Grain Mill attachment. Fresh-milled flour contains all parts of the grain—the bran, germ, and endosperm—and has an incredible aroma you just don't get from store-bought flour.

For this batch, we're using wheat berries from Palouse Brand. Watching whole grains become flour in just a few minutes never gets old.

From pasture-raised meats to traditional food skills, we're always looking for ways to connect with where our food comes from.

Good news from Graystone Acres.

As we've continued to grow and learn, we've spent a lot of time reviewing our production costs, processing expenses, and overall efficiency. After running the numbers, we've found ways to keep our operation sustainable while also making our chicken more affordable for local families.

Because of that, we're lowering prices on several of our chicken products.

We know food costs have been challenging for many families, and one of our goals has always been to provide high-quality, locally raised food at a fair price.

Our chickens are still raised right here in Marion County, WV with access to pasture, fresh grass, sunshine, and non-GMO feed. Nothing about our standards has changed.

What has changed is our ability to pass some savings on to you.

Week 2 and these chicks are growing fast! 🐥

We just added a larger feeder and will be adding more waterers soon. It’s amazing how quickly meat birds outgrow their brooder setup. Keeping feed and water easily accessible helps them stay healthy and growing strong.

Black snake got into the chicken brooder this afternoon. A good lesson that farming isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Chicks are ok!

🐥 Chick Day Round 2 is officially here!

The newest members of the farm have arrived safe and sound. After a long trip, it’s time to get them settled into the brooder, warmed up, and hydrated. Nothing beats watching these little fluff balls explore their new home.

We’re excited to watch them grow and become part of the farm. Which breed is your favorite?
