All available silkies at the Howard county fair have been sold. Still plenty of birds to shop for! Look for the green ticket with two parts, sold signs are up so you can clearly see what’s available and what’s already sold.

I will likely have some silkie hens available after making my breeding pens next month. I’ll post those available birds here.

Today is the start of POULTRY sale day for our 4-Hers at the poultry barn on the Howard county fairgrounds. We just had judging yesterday by Tom Roebuck. It was great to see him, and have all the birds placed by such an expert. Come check out our birds, see what eggs they lay, talk to some club kids or adults in the Poultry barn to make a purchase and support 4-H and the local community. If you have any questions drop them here I’ll answer them and update with photos. Others might have the same questions you have!

New Zealand white rabbits will be available August 10th at 10 weeks old. We have started our rabbit season early with Dolly on accident. She was bred with a buck we sold so we will likely retain a some.

These are rabbits bred for meat, my daughter’s 4-h project and dinner option. All money eared goes to her for financial investing and to put back into this project.

Shes happy to answer questions, share pedigree and details.

GOAT MILKER NEEDED!

Looking for a reliable, routine-committed person to milk 5 Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats for 7 consecutive days while I am away.

When: June 14–21 *one visit per day* please make sure you can commit to the same time each day (+\- 2 hours)
Payment: No cash payment. This is an exchange for experience and 6-7 gallons of goat's milk.
Experience: Not necessary! I will train you on everything before I leave.
How: You can milk by hand or use our milking machine (simple pulse).
The Perk: You keep the entire week's yield of fresh, raw milk (about 1 gallon per day).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring homesteader, crafter, or someone wanting to see if goats/milk is for them before making the commitment.

You must be dependable, as the goats rely on a strict daily schedule!
