This is how we apply natural fertilizer (manure) in winter… the freezing temps kill any fly larvae, and the snow cover makes it easier to see if it’s an even application from the manure spreader.

Another Farmer just sent me this article (posted on my blog)... Why Supermarket Meat is Unnaturally Red... "as much as 70 percent of meat sold in stores in the United States is treated with carbon monoxide to keep the meat a deceptively fresh-looking red color. Even more disturbing, Europe banned this practice many years ago because it was deemed unsafe! Japan and Canada have banned carbon monoxide as a color stabilizer in meat and fish as well."

Turned our Devons out on grass today, they were so happy, tired of eating dried grass (hay) all winter!
