Lysergic Dreams is our freshest Hazy IPA

If there were two hops that are the foundation of any hazy IPA, they’d be Citra and Nelson. So what better way to make a hazy than to use both at the same time. This beer is an ultimate juice bomb, brewed intentionally to be a vessel for fruity hop expression. When we selected our Citra this past year, we knew it was going to be a winner, showing insane levels of mango and orange zest. The Nelson we had this year was also an insane lot. Ultra fruit expression with a moderate diesel component, just enough to be present but not enough to overwhelm the beer. Combined, these two hops play elegantly together. Coming in at 6.5% abv, it’s right in the middle of the road for a hazy. Low enough to be drinkable but big enough to stand up to all the hops.

Mitsuru is our Rice Lager, an ode to Mitsuru Tenma

Mitsuru Tenma is the grandfather of Brennan and the Father of Debbie. Without Mitsuru Tenma, there is no Tenma Beer Project. This beer is an ode to him, a beer brewed simply and succinctly. A blend of Weyermann Premium Pilsner malt and flaked rice is all that is needed. Gentle Saphir hops give the beer a floral aroma and the subtle balance of bitterness. Fermented cold with our house 34/70 yeast and lagered until ready. A small 4.2% abv ensures drinkability and sessionability. No excess, just a clean and simple rice lager.

Ethereal Resonance is a brand new WC Pils!

West Coast Pilsners are a fun vessel to show off hops. These beers express hops a little bit differently than pale ales and much differently than WCIPA. Fermented with lager yeast, they express a slightly cleaner character to layer flavor onto. We also modify the water we use, opting for a slightly softer and less intense character. For the hops, we wanted to see how two of our favorite hops play together in this format. We used our selected Mosaic and some Freestyle Nelson to create a balanced but intensely aromatic WC Pils. The classic berries and resin are front and center from the Mosaic while the Nelson sneaks up and adds a layer of tropical funk, pushing towards super ripe guava and diesel. A lower abv of 5.4% keeps this beer ultimately drinkable, allowing massive hop character in a sessionable beer. Something we can easily get behind as the massive hop heads we are.

Habitual Moment, a liquid love letter to Simcoe

We love layering hops into beers and think it’s a wonderful way to create intense hop character, but sometimes using just a single hop creates its own complexity. This past year during hop harvest, we traveled to Yakima and were able to select three varieties, Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe. We were extremely stoked with the Simcoe we selected this year and it makes sense. It was grown by the farm who created it, . While we were out in Yakima we also had the opportunity to tour Perrault farms. Their facility is a dreamland for any hop head. Watching hops get harvested directly in front of our eyes (and noses) was a tactile and sensorial experience that put us even more in touch with the ingredients we love so much.

Now for the beer. This is a 100% Simcoe pale ale which allows Simcoe to take front and center stage. Our selected Simcoe expresses lovely tangerine, soft mango, underripe peaches, and a touch of pine resin. The bitterness of Simcoe is also wonderful, perfectly punchy but not overly lingering. A balance of softness and bitterness is achieved, allowing for maximum drinkability. An abv of 5.6% keeps the beer sessionable, like all good pale ales should be. We’re stoked to bring this beer back and will continue every year to showcase our selection of Simcoe. Thanks to Perrault for creating and growing such a wonderful hop and also showing us around your facility!

-Where the Cosmos Frays-
Our first ever Barrel Aged Barleywine release! Aged for 14 months in barrels and coming in at 13.6% abv, it is a wallop of a beer bursting with layers of caramelized sugar, sticky fudge, robust maltiness, brownie batter, and subtle oak. We literally maxed out our system to create the most intense malt driven beer we could. Multiple caramel malts, chocolate malt, and Golden Promise malt create a beer with depth even before it hits barrels. Fourteen months later, it is a monster of a beer that absolutely coats the palate, letting wave upon wave of flavor develop.

-Infinite Self: Nelson-
Our award winning WCIPA with 100% Nelson is one of the beers that helped put us on the map and let people know we exist. This beer is an ultra lean and mean WCIPA showcasing Freestyle Nelson and Freestyle Nelson Hop Kief that expresses intense diesel, tropical fruit, and sticky sativa. An abv of 6.7% keeps it snappy and drinkable. It’s 100% Nelson, y’all know what to expect!

-Waves of Consequence-
A brand new French Style Pilsner. We love pilsners and riffing on them. This beer contains 100% French Aramis hops, 20% corn, and the remainder is Schuema Pils. A bright, dry, and snappy pilsner coming in at 4.6% abv remains ultra refreshing and easy drinking. Aramis hops are a more modern French hop that displays lovely floral complexity followed by classic noble herbal intensity. A fun new pilsner to cleanse the palate between dank IPA and intense barleywine.

We’re absolutely stoked to be celebrating with you all! We are open normal hours today, 12-10p

Synthetic Awakening is a brand new WCIPA!

It has been a minute since we’ve introduced a new WCIPA that wasn’t a collaboration. Hop combos are a nuanced choice, and sometimes we get caught up in a singular avenue of thought. We looked at our non collaboration WCIPA’s recently and realized 80% of them contain Mosaic. Now, we’re not ashamed of that. In fact, we’re pretty proud of that. We love Mosaic and these numbers back up our claim. But that got us thinking, we might want to make more WCIPA’s without any Mosaic. Maybe as a challenge, maybe to burn through hop contracts, or maybe just because we saw the numbers and said, yea it’s time to expand.

So, let’s welcome a WCIPA made with Citra, Strata, and Columbus Cryo. The Citra we selected this year expresses juicy citrus and overripe mango. The Strata we have this year is intensely tropical, bursting with lychee and mangosteen. While both of those work well together, they leave a one dimensional path of flavor. Enter Columbus Cryo. The dankness bringing, resin giving, stanky hop (in a good way). The balance of flavors are synonymous up front with a crunchy contrast on the finish. A bigger abv of 7.2% lets this beer build body through alcohol and balance the beer even more. Present but soft bitterness cuts through and leaves the palate dry and ready for another sip. We did it! We made a WCIPA without any New Zealand or Mosaic. It is possible.

Enteramine is our German Style Pilsner!

This beer was the first German Style Pilsner we ever brewed, but things have come a long way since then. We have implemented process changes that we believe makes the beer even more authentic and traditional. This beer is a wildly simple beer. Using 100% Schuema Pilsner malt from and 100% Hallertau Mittelfruh hops from , we layer complexity through multiple process avenues. Biological acidification, multi step mashes, cold fermentation, and natural carbonation bring this beer to be what it is, a highly drinkable but nuanced beer. It is a beverage that is inherently nerdy, but doesn’t need to be thought about deeply. It is there for enjoyment. A small beer with a low abv of 4.5% allows you to consume in quantity.

Slow Decay is our Munich Style Dunkel

We have a deep love for traditional German styles, ever meandering through process changes which create nuanced changes. Slow Decay was our first brew ever at Tenma, and every time we re brew this beer we look back at iterations of years past. We’ve come a long way since then, but the bones remain the same. Pilsner, Munich, and a small touch of roasted malts combine to create a rich and malty brown lager. A beer which displays malt without becoming overly sweet or cloying. A hint of hop bitterness and flavor is sprinkled in with Hallertau Tradition, barely perceptible, just as it should be. A small abv of 4.8% keeps the beer drinkable, but the beer drinks much more full than the small abv would infer. We naturally carbonated this beer which makes the foam soft and long lasting. A slow evolution through the years is presented in this iteration, but don’t worry we don’t plan on stopping here.

Currently in cans and on draft. Come by for a half liter mug and leave with a 4 pack!
