Ever wonder how we chose the name Smiley Ants Farm?

Today Farmer Eric is going to tell you the heartwarming story of how he decided that name!

A number of years ago his wife, Pam, was out in the garden and she rushed into the house to tell Eric “THERE’S A REALLY COOL ANT HIVE THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE A SMILEY FACE!” Naturally he was super excited to see this ant hive so he ran outside to see it! And right below him he saw the same ant hive that looked like a smiley face.

At the time, Eric was struggling with what his next steps in life were. He was researching and praying almost every day, but when he saw that ant hive he knew that he had to pursue his dreams to continue with nature in his life.

So just like the hive, his farm and his business he founded are Smiley!

Natural prairies are vital ecosystems that sustain biodiversity, mitigate climate change through massive carbon storage, filter water, and prevent soil erosion. Their complex, deep root systems act as natural sponges and structural anchors that enrich the land. At Smiley Ants Farm we have 12 acres of native prairie.
