Hi friends. It’s been a while since our last post. We’ve been deep deep into the grind. Partially because we’re always improving, partially because every. stupid. thing. broke, and partially because the people we pay rent to are, let’s call it, unresponsive. Come in and buy Griffin/Andy some beers and maybe we’ll feel like saying more about that...

Ok - THE GLASS IS ALWAYS HALF-FULL (just in case my therapist is reading this). Here’s some lemonade we’ve made since January:

Remodeled the restroom!
New keg washer pump!
Repaired the forklift!
Fixed the front door!
Repaired the forklift, again!
Insulated drafty walls!
Rebuilt our cask cooler!
Replaced the HVAC filter motor!
Rebuilt our grist-hydrator!
Planted another 140 native plants in the parking lot!
Spent a lot of money and helped the economy?
Repaired the forklift?
Bug-fixed our auto-text message service!
Replaced the wall behind the brewhouse!
Replaced the controls for our Hot Liquor Tank!
Brought back the Ginger American Wheat Beer!
Made some really awesome spring lagers!
Won an award for our H2O Yeah Hop Water!

Fixed, cleaned, tweaked, or upgraded another 82 things we either don’t remember, or would rather not talk about.

Happy SPRING everyone. Come visit! It’s really nice here and the beer is fantastic.

it’s widdle one season! easily our widdlest, gentlest ipa, widdle one is a 1.9%, full flavored ipa for those taking january nice and easy. a careful malt bill to build up the otherwise very small body with a splash of dolcita (think peach, pineapple, and citrus) hops. on tap, in cans, and in our hearts!

No seriously, Don’t Hazitate. We’re past the Solstice now and the days are getting longer. So, if you like dark beers, we still have plenty of fun styles left from Dark Beer Fest. And if you’re down to move to lighter fare, the light is coming! But don’t snooze on this hazy, it’s nearly gone... already...

Also, remember widdle one ipa from last year? That 1.9% abv ipa made for January? It’s coming back! On tap and in cans on January 1st!

Happy Dark Beer Fest!

We had a blast. Thank you to everyone who packed the taproom for our 12th Dark Beer Fest. It was our biggest/best in many ways - styles served, taster flights poured, and fun had. We’re honored to be a part of your holiday traditions!

We’re still letting the dust settle but thought you might like this fun stat:

Counting all on-site glassware, we poured an average of 1 glass per minute FOR EVERY MINUTE of the 70 hrs of DBF

Dark Beer Fest - DAY 4 - QUAD DAY

It’s the Winter Solstice and the final day of the 12th Annual Dark Beer Fest at Flying Lion! That means it’s only getting lighter from here on. But, it’s still very dark here (in Seattle, and on our taplist).

As is DBF tradition, today brings us Belgian Quads of all kinds. Come taste a whole bunch of wonderful, spicy, fruity, aromatic, Belgian Quads. And water, drink water.

Happy Day 3 of Dark Beer Fest!

We pour a lot of taster flights during Dark Beer Fest, so we did some trial runs with the sushi conveyor belt model... Needs some improvement. Maybe we’ll just stick to handing them over the bar.

A couple of new beers went on late last night, then we tapped 7 more this morning! Come one, come all for the last keg of the (Barrel-Aged) Call Me Old Fashioned Imperial Red, vintages and barrels and casks of English (Dark, obvs) Strong, our first-ever Oyster Stout, a Sangiovese Grape Wild Ale, and a whole mess of other tasty options.
