People often ask why do you raise longhorn cattle. Well the answer is always the same. They are very healthy, hearty, heat and drought tolerant, plus cold doesn’t bother them at all! Let me introduce you to Diamond C Ivelsia. She just recently had her 18th birthday and just today she had her 16th calf. She has never once had an antibiotic shot, never once been seen by the vet, and never has had trouble calving. Just a good pour on deworming once a year and she is good to go! Give her a bull, and she will give you a calf!

Monday evening we had a horrible storm come through. High winds, heavy rain, lightning, thunder, and hail. Multiple trees down on Morris Rd. made it totally impassable. After the storm passed, I went to check cows and found five huge trees had totally destroyed some fencing. But as always there’s a bright side to everything, this beautiful little heifer was born right in the middle of the storm. She’s happy and healthy thank goodness! Therefore we’ll call her Thunder Struck!
