Welcome! Homesteading in Southbury, CT. We are excited you are here to follow along on our journey. We offer Farm Fresh Eggs at our roadside farmstand.

See our Rescue animals and we offer Fresh Organic Eggs, Sourdough Breads, and when in season, Organic Vegetables. Sourdough breads are available by order for Sunday pickup. Our cottage kitchen bakes Cinnamon Raisin bread for the Laurel Diner's Cinnamon Raisin French toast.

We’re testing a pumpkin cinnamon swirl bread with a sweet, buttery streusel topping. Looking to add a little more fall flavor to our menu! 🍂

My pride and joy from the garden. 💕🌼
There’s just something so rewarding about walking outside and cutting a bouquet that you grew yourself. These dahlias have completely stolen my heart this year. All the waiting, watering, and tending… so worth it.

Nature really does make the most beautiful art. 🌸💛

Mom’s morning glories are finally taking off, climbing a little higher every day. The Walmart dahlia tubers have continue to surprise me, and are just beginning to bloom (I can’t wait to see what’s next!), and the zinnias are blooming bringing so many pollinators into the garden.

It’s a reminder that gardens don’t bloom overnight. With a little patience, care, and a lot of hope, they reward you in the most beautiful ways.

Sometimes the smallest beginnings bring the biggest joy. 💛🐣

After 21 days of waiting, a chick has officially hatched!

Watching this little one break free from its shell is a beautiful reminder that good things take time, patience, and a little faith.

We’re hoping more little peeps will be joining the family over the next day or two. Keep your fingers crossed for a successful hatch! 🥚✨

Introducing Marshmallow 🤍

When Marshmallow first arrived at Brown Brook Farmstead, she made sure everyone knew she had arrived. Head butts, little bumps, and plenty of sass, she was determined to find her place in the herd.

A few weeks later, we’re watching her slowly soften. The feisty attitude is calming, her trust is growing, and sweetest of all, Bambi has stepped in to become her very best friend 🐐

Sometimes rescue animals just need time, patience, and a friend who understands.
