Pure Vermont lavender essential oil and hydrosol?Yes, please! We've been running the still while we process our culinary crop and things have been smelling extra nice around here. Our still, small & plain but mighty, puts out about 5 bottles per batch with decent jars of hydrosol to boot.

While we're going to keep most of our EO for our products, watch this space---- we'll be selling a small amount of our finest '26 VT Phenomenal Lavender EO in the next few weeks, a stunning EO made from our chemical-free, spray-free, mountain air and sunshine grown hand harvested lavender.

Well, it's been a longgggg week. 🫠 Between the August heat and an absolutely insane amount of lavender, delirium definitely set in at a few points 😅 Fuelled by cookies, Duttons cider and caffiene (and some volunteer helpers--- thank you, thank you!) we did it though and the rest of the Phenomenal crop is now in the barn drying.

What's next? We'll be making essential oil and processing our culinary lavender while the Phenomenal dries, and also catching up on life in general (including updating our webstore with all of the new fun stuff from the farm shop!)

While GML is now closed to the public, you can find us at the Ludlow Farmers Market every Sunday in September except the weekend of 19/20 (we'll be at the Chester Fall Festival). Aside from that you can also find our goods The Shanty VT or or online on our website.

GML's first U-Pick season officially wrapped up yesterday and we wanted to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out, picked, visited, lent a hand and helped kick off our first U-Pick season! We met so many great people & are already looking forward to next summer.

But first--we'll be spending this week harvesting the rest of the crop and will have limited opening hours if you'd like to visit the farm shop (we will have fresh bundles for sale along with our products but no field access) 👇

Tuesday 08/04: 10am-1pm
Wednesday 08/05: 10am-1pm
Thursday 08/06: 10am-1pm
Friday 08/07: 10am-1pm

Then closed until next June (unless some autumn pop ups are in the stars) ⭐

Where did July go?? Anyways, just like today's amazing sunset, the lavender season is nearly on the horizon and we have just TWO more days of U-Pick left in the 2026 season!

A bunch of people reached out and ask about picking today and they're right--- the forecast this week does look rainy (torrentially on Wednesday). Because we really love lavender and you do, too, we're doing two pop-up U-Pick times today and tomorrow. We will be harvesting in the fields but will keep an eye out for visitors 👋

GML is open for U-Pick today and tomorrow from 10am-6pm. Back again next Wed for a final run of U-Pick and then it's all hands on deck for the big harvest.

Last night's sunset was unreal. So is this lavender crop! It's early this year, so our last U-Pick date will be Sunday, August 2nd.

This week is absolutely prime and we've started to harvest in earnest, so you want to see the big purple make sure to put us on your calendar!

Friday 10am-7:30pm
Saturday 10am-6pm
Sunday 10am-6pm

👉 U-Pick continues Wed-Sun until August 2nd as we work our way through the harvest. Looking for lavender products after that date? Keep an eye out for farm shop opening times as we process the crop throughout August.

It's been a big 24 hours at the farm.

First, we're open today from 10am-7:30pm. Sun is out, wind is up and the lavender picking is good!

🦋 Next, delighted to participate in the Vermont Butterfly Atlas. We're at 13 species and counting, and the techs at the Vermont Center for Ecostudies plan to make a second trip. How many will we end up with???? Can't wait to find out. We take a low mow approach in our upper and lower meadows, so it's a bird, bee, butterfly and dragonfly kingdom out there 👑

🪻 Finally, sending fresh bundles on the road to some new out of state customers! Excited and hope everyone enjoys the smell of peak VT lavender 🤞🤞
