We had a blast passing out (and collecting!) treats with costumed creatures of all ages at last week’s Trick or Treat at The Market event! 🎃

👉 This Friday is the LAST MARKET OF THE YEAR so come thru if you’ve wanted to check it out (there will be food trucks!!).

We’re bringing:

🪴 catnip potpourri
🌱 misc dried herbs
🫑 green bell peppers
& more!

(Working on getting more eggs; it’s that time of year. We’re getting 2 dozen a day on good days.)

Happy Market Day! As season comes to an end and we’re low on produce, we made jalapeno cheddar cornbread for today! The peppers and eggs came from our farm. $3/slice and if it sells out I’ll bring more next week for the last market! ✨

Turns out I actually did get a few pictures at Big Fam Music & Arts Festival ! We loved the vibes in the By Katfish stage area, wandering around the art, and (of course) the music! This is a much smaller fest compared to Lost Lands or Forest, but we had way more fun than at a large one for way less money. Smaller fests are where it’s at IMHO and this one reminded me why I love going to these events again - I haven’t been feeling the magic the past few years, but I’m pleased to report the Zeitbeast is still alive and THRIVING at a small art-focused homie fest near you. 🎈

Best Food: The pizza cooked on the old truck oven and of course The Pudgy 🐼
Coolest Art: Interactive Giant Banjos
Fave Spot: Hammocking in The Bayou
Biggest W: you can bring drinks from camp and your chairs to the main stage
Biggest L: didn’t find out there were showers until the last day
New Artists We Saw: The Widdler COFRESI

Artist We Wanted To See But Missed: Super Future Swamp Puppiez
Toilets: 4/5 stars. Reasonably clean for a fest, actually cleaner than many public toilets I’ve used, but occasionally out of TP
Dranks: none sold on site but you’re allowed to bring your own as long as it’s not in glass
Smokes: multiple tree vendors and a ni****ne vendor

There used to be a solar powered auto door here, but it broke and we didn’t really like it anyways because inevitably a few stragglers birds would get locked out. This manual door replaced it - the zip sheathing was leftover from another project and the hinges from a junked cabinet. The screws and latch were purchased, though. Hopefully this door keeps our free range goat out of the coop while still allowing the birds to access their nesting boxes and feed. 🐓

I was using a sturdy white plastic container that used to have frosting in it, but I swapped it out for this depression glass creamer from a vintage pattern I’ve collected for years. Now I can actually see my measuring spoons. Reminder that the “buy everything your space needs at once” is a product of the overconsumption internet era, and that it’s normal to acquire pieces you love over time (and much more satisfying, IMHO). ✨

We love living in a rural area with Up North vibes. We also miss some perks of “civilization” like the convenience of Getting Stuff Delivered when Going To The Store happens to be inconvenient, so we decided to help change that. DM for delivery. 🚗
