** It’s Throwback Thursday **

We make a toast to Chesney today, celebrating his 21st birthday this week! The average life expectancy of alpacas is 16 to 20 years. It’s not surprising that Chesney is ABOVE average! Longevity runs in his family, his mother Faye is approaching 24 years.

Chesney comes from legendary genetics in the alpaca industry, the Peruvian imported Royal Fawn bloodline. He would qualify as a phenotypical example of an alpaca. He has a maintained his regal and typey appearance. His topknot is beautiful. And at 21 years, his fiber is still soft and crimpy. Cheers to Chesney, you make us proud! 🥂

Tuesday morning. Turn the sound up. If you can hear over all the chirping birds, about 5 seconds in you’ll hear a high pitch braying type noise. The alpacas are facing the pond alarming calling about something. We see nothing. It could be a stray leaf from fall blowing across the yard. 🤣
