There are some events that simply become part of your heart. This is one of them. ❤️🎶
Many of you remember hearing our dad, John Angevine, fill the Christmas Barn (The Studio) at Angevine Farm with the unforgettable sound of the theatre pipe organ rescued from the historic Capitol Theatre in Danbury. If you were fortunate enough to hear him play, you witnessed the passion, joy, and reverence he had for these magnificent instruments.
What many people don't know is that more than 55 years ago, our dad, alongside our mom, Kathy, and a dedicated team of volunteers, helped rescue and restore another extraordinary instrument—the historic Marr & Colton Theatre Pipe Organ from the Palace Theatre in Danbury. Dad served as crew chief of the restoration project, guiding one of Connecticut's most significant preservation efforts and helping ensure this musical treasure would live on for future generations.
Those who knew Dad knew he never sought recognition. He simply loved preserving history, sharing music, and giving of himself. He was a talented craftsman, an ingenious problem solver, and one of the most generous people we've ever known. Seeing this beautiful instrument celebrate its 100th birthday, and still bringing joy to audiences today, would make him so happy and proud.
