Abundance Season is here! ☀️

Right now, the concensous among the farm crew is that field-grown heirloom tomatoes and our cherry tomatoes are truly so flavorful and like summertime candy. And we are all very excited to try our new fingerling potatoes! 🍅🥔

The harvest keeps changing, and this time of year our market booth is filled with the best of summer. Tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, greens, herbs, onions, beans, and so much more - all harvested fresh by our crew this week.

🥔 The potato.. one of the most versatile veggies

This season we took a leap and planted a whole field of them.

Between the rains this week, we harvested nearly a ton of colorful, culinarily diverse potatoes. From buttery golds and rosy reds to fingerlings and purples, each variety brings something different to the table.

🌽 Shoulder high by the Fourth of July!

A few days late posting, but that's July on a farm. 😅

Our Three Sisters plot is back for another season. The corn is already shoulder high, the beans are climbing the stalks, and the squash is starting to spread across the ground just as it should.

It's looking especially sharp alongside our freshly straw-mulched winter squash, thanks to our neighbors across the hill Nutmeg Acres. 🤩

🌽 Sweet corn... in June?!

In late June/early July we're always asked: "Do you have sweet corn yet?" Usually the answer is no.

This year we tried something a little crazy and planted sweet corn in the greenhouse back in March. Today we harvested our first ears, just in time for Fourth of July week.

The Three Sisters are together again! 🌽🫘🎃

This weekend we planted the winter squash, completing this year's Three Sisters planting. Corn and dry beans are already growing strong.

Last year's crop has kept us fed with polenta, cornmeal, dry beans, and squash for months. We loved growing it, and you loved eating it, so we're doing it again 🌱

🥔 A greenhouse treasure hunt! ➡️

The crew harvested our first new potatoes of the season! Larissa, Sam, Curtis, Madeline, Brendan (and Abigail) helped fill the crates with these rosy-red gems planted back in late winter.

For those who remember last year's spring potatoes: Baltic Rose potatoes are back!! 🥔✨
