🍗 Glens Falls Wing Fest — Field Report
Didn’t make it to every location this year, so no official “best wing” crown from me… but I did hit six spots and put together a solid tasting run.
Here’s how it played out:
🔥 Bastard Restrobar
Tried Garlic Buffalo w/ Bacon & Ranch, Peanut Butter & Jelly, and their Korean wing.
– Korean had that bold, sticky flavor that stands out right away.
– PB&J… creative and definitely a conversation starter.
– Garlic Buffalo was a strong, familiar base with a twist.
🌶️ Downtown Social
Wood-fired wings with spicy chili aioli.
– Nice balance of heat and smoke.
– The aioli added a smooth kick without overpowering the wing.
🍺 Davidson Brothers
Daytona, Raspberry Jalapeño, and Agave Dry Rub.
– The dry rub stood out… great char and seasoning without relying on sauce.
– A solid, no-nonsense wing.
🧪 Farmacy
Dill pickle dry rub wings (plus cauliflower version).
– The pickle flavor worked really well.
– Different, but in a good way.
🍗 The Bullpen
Had to make the home stop… and they came ready.
Flavors included:
– Roasted Garlic Buffalo — classic done right with a little extra depth
– Maple Chipotle w/ Bacon Dust — sweet, smoky, and that bacon dust brings it home
– Umami Tsunami (Brown Butter Pretzel Dust) — rich, savory, and probably the most unique wing I had all day
– Not saying they were the best… but I’m also not not saying it 😄
– Consistent, creative, and just flat-out good across the board
🚒 Fire Mission BBQ
Flavors like Spicy Peach, Blueberry Chipotle, Buffalo, BBQ, and Thai Chili.
– Nice smoky base with some strong sweet heat combos
– Good variety and well executed
---
Overall, a really good mix this year — some creative swings, some classic executions, and a few that definitely stood out.
Six stops, solid sampling… and yeah, I’m officially full of wings 😄🍗
Side note … a large vanilla shake from McDonald’s for the ride home … 😅
