Ringless honey mushrooms have a delicate, earthy flavor and a soft, satisfying texture when cooked. They’re wonderful sautéed until lightly browned and are also a nice addition to soups, gravies, and other savory dishes.

Honey mushrooms have a mild, earthy flavor and a tender but slightly chewy texture. They’re especially good sautéed with butter or added to soups, sauces, and other dishes where they can soak up plenty of flavor. The caps are geney.rally the favorite part, the large ones are perfect for stuffing.

Shrimp of the Woods is actually is actually a parasite to the honey mushroom but also a delicious edible. It has a firm, meaty texture and a mild, savory flavor with just a hint of seafood. It’s especially good sautéed or fried, where it develops a nice golden crust while staying tender inside.

My recommendation for the honey mushrooms, both kinds is to boil for at least 5 min before using in whatever recipe. They can be a bit slimy like okra but boiling first and rinsing helps. Last night I made some. I sauteed them in butter and oil and when they started getting slimy I just added water to the pan and cooked it off then added a little more butter and finished sauteing it.

Here at Frantz Produce we are so grateful for all the bulk corn orders. Thanks to everyone who has placed and received their order.

We are having one big problem though. Our corn bags are not making their way back home to Frantz Produce to be used for the next corn order. To the people who have taken the time to return them we are very grateful.

If you have any of the Frantz Produce corn bags please return them. You can place them on the front porch if it is after stand hours.
