💜 Self Blue/Lavender Silkie Boy 💜

I’ve decided to let this little guy go instead of keeping him back for my breeding program.

He does have an extra toe/nail on one foot, which is something I don’t want to carry forward in my breeding lines.

I’m trying to be a little more selective with what I keep this year, and unfortunately, that means letting some boys go that I originally planned on growing out.

He may be just what someone else is looking for! 💜

GONE💜 Self Blue/Lavender Showgirl Boy! 💜

This handsome guy is up for grabs, and he’s got a lot going for him!

He’s WIDE, has good toes, good wings, and so many of the qualities I look for in my breeding birds. The one thing he has going against him is some tail feathers that aren’t shredding like I like.

I believe in being upfront about my birds, the good and the bad. If you’re someone willing to work on improving that feathering, he might be your guy!

And if he doesn’t find the right home, I’ll gladly keep him and work with him myself. He’s such a sweetheart, and my daughter absolutely loves him. ❤️

I’m just trying to make some room and let a few boys go, which is always easier said than done around here! 😂

Shipping day here at Silkies in the City! 🐥📦❤️

We’ve got lots of little fluffballs packed up and heading to their new homes today!

I always have mixed feelings on shipping days. I spend so much time raising these babies, watching them grow, and picking out the ones I want to keep (which is usually way too many 😂). It’s a little hard seeing them leave, but I love knowing they’re going to people who are just as excited about Silkies as I am!

A big thank you to everyone who has purchased birds from me. I truly appreciate each and every one of you and the support you give my little chicken obsession! ❤️

Now that I’ve gotten these babies on their way, I’ll be going through more birds and posting some that will be available. I’ve got some tough decisions to make because I can’t keep them all… even though I’d sure like to! 😂🐓

🐣📦 Shipping Day Tomorrow! 📦🐣

All birds scheduled to ship will be heading out tomorrow morning! ❤️

Once I get everyone packed up and on their way, I’ll be going back through my pens and deciding who else will be looking for new coops! 🐓

Well, we have a new addition to the family! 🐱❤️

My daughter found this little girl in a friends garage hiding behind some buckets, covered in fleas and skinny as could be. Of course, we couldn’t just leave her! 😂

She’s already the sweetest little thing. She loves to be held, curls right up with us, and has been making biscuits nonstop. I think she’s pretty happy to have found us!

I’ve never had a calico before, so I’m curious… who else has one? What’s their personality like?

And most importantly, we need help naming her! We like unusual, vintage, and even Halloween-inspired names. Let’s hear them! 🧡🖤🤍

Everyone needs Halloween babies!

To my fellow hatch alcoholics…

If you set eggs TODAY, you’ll have babies hatching on HALLOWEEN! 🎃👻🐥

I will NOT be participating in this year’s event, but it would be a shame not to let everyone else know. 😂

So consider this your official warning… TIME TO LOAD UP THOSE INCUBATORS!

Nothing says cozy winter quite like warming yourself by the incubator, listening to tiny peeps, and convincing yourself that this is definitely the last hatch of the year. 🤣

Stay warm, stay cozy, and may your hatch rates be higher than your blood pressure 😂😂😂
