THIS is one of my favorite kinds of messages to get! 🐣❤️

There is just something so exciting about sending eggs off and then getting pictures a few weeks later of the sweet little babies that made their way into the world. 🥹

A customer sent me these pictures of chicks they hatched from eggs from our flock, and I just had to share them!

Shipping hatching eggs will always come with risks and there are never guarantees once those little eggs start their journey, which makes seeing healthy babies on the other end that much sweeter. Every hatch feels like a tiny celebration. 🐥

I absolutely LOVE when you all send me hatch updates, chick pictures and eventually pictures of them all grown up. Seeing where our babies end up is one of my favorite parts of doing this.

If you’ve hatched Silkies in the City babies, keep those pictures coming! I never get tired of seeing them. ❤️🐣

And seriously… is there anything cuter than a fresh little pile of fluff?! 😍

This week has been one of THOSE weeks. 😅

Homeschooling kids, running here and there, trying to keep up with work, the house, appointments, errands, meals and everything else that comes with being a wife and mom. My husband and I have both been going nonstop, and most nights neither of us has made it home until late.

By last night, this mama was DONE. 😂 Cooking dinner wasn’t happening, so I decided Japanese takeout through the drive-thru was good enough.

As the lady was getting ready to hand me my food, she looked into my car and noticed the Chick-fil-A cups still sitting in my cupholders from lunch. 🤦‍♀️ She asked, “Would you like a drink carrier, or could I throw those away for you?”

I don’t think I’ve EVER had a drive-thru employee offer to clean out my car before. 😂 Apparently even she could tell I was barely holding it together.

So I moved my old cups to the middle cupholders to make room for the new ones. As I’m getting my drinks, I happen to look in my rearview mirror…

The woman in the car behind me is dusting her dashboard with a FULL-SIZE SWIFFER DUSTER while she waits. 😂😂

Ma’am. Read the room. I’m over here collecting fast-food cups like they’re part of the decor, and you’re DETAILING YOUR CAR in the drive-thru. 😭

But sitting there laughing, I thought about this whole week. It wasn’t pretty. I didn’t get everything done. The house wasn’t perfect. Dinner came through a window. There were probably 100 things I could’ve done better.

But we made it.

Sometimes God’s grace doesn’t look like having everything perfectly together. Sometimes it looks like having enough strength for the next thing, finding something to laugh about when you’re exhausted, and realizing at the end of a long week that He carried you through every bit of it.

So here’s to all the moms who are doing their best, praying their way through the chaos and currently have three days’ worth of cups in their car. 😂❤️

His grace is sufficient — even in the messy weeks.

🌻🐣 New blooms & new babies… does it get much better than this?

There’s just something about walking outside and finding a sunflower finally showing off, then heading to the coop and discovering a brand-new little life tucked safely under mama. 💛

These are the moments that make all the work worth it—the feeding, cleaning, hatching, worrying, waiting…and then suddenly, new life everywhere you look.

A little reminder that even as one season starts winding down, God is still creating something new. 🌻🐥

Today’s happiness looks like sunshine, sunflowers, and tiny fluffy babies. And I’m perfectly okay with that. 💛

🖤 WHY are black Silkies so hard to photograph?! 😂

I swear this girl is absolutely gorgeous in person—deep, rich black, fluffy from head to toe, and that big beautiful crest. Then I pull out my phone and suddenly she turns into one giant black fluff ball with two feet and absolutely no facial features. 😂😂

Black is one of those colors that a camera just does NOT do justice. The lighting is either too dark and you lose every bit of detail, or too bright and they suddenly look gray. 🤦‍♀️

But every once in a while you catch the light just right and get a glimpse of how pretty they really are. 🖤

She may be difficult to photograph, but she sure isn’t difficult to look at. 😍

Anyone else with black birds have approximately 437 terrible pictures for every ONE good one? 😂📸

😂 She said, “Three months is plenty of maternity leave!”

That girl is SERIOUS about her job! She just hatched and raised 8 babies about three months ago, and I walk out to the coop today to find her hiding another little freshly hatched baby underneath her. 🐣😂

Some hens go broody once in a while… and then there’s this girl, apparently running a full-time hatchery. 🤦‍♀️

POV: You’re a bird dog living on a chicken farm… and management has made it VERY clear that you are not allowed to participate. 😂🐶🐔

Hundreds of birds right outside.

Not allowed to touch them.
Not allowed to chase them.
Not allowed to “help.”

So I guess we’ll just lay here dramatically and dream about what could’ve been. 🤣

Wrong career. Wrong household.

Another cute white boy available. I hatched so many white boys. I think I have one girl out of like 12 😂
