So buckle up and welcome to the struggle bus. I'm closing in on a half a century years old mama to 2 adult children. One who is on the autism spectrum and still lives with me. We live very close to largest Amish community in Ohio and love the peace and quiet. I love creating with fabric, wool, paper mache, and whatever else I have hidden around my home. I'm not a great cook or baker BUT I do love

trying new recipes even though my daughter has quite a few food aversions. She is also trying new recipes to make on her own as well. Please join me as I navigate life trying to take care of my aging parents, work, helping my daughter, and enjoy the things that keep me sane in life.

Speaking of plants I bought some today at Rural King for 75% off. Do they look great? No. But if I plant them and keep them alive they'll be back next year. I will have to practice patience until then.

Most times when I take vacation days I stay home and craft or do whatever. But for today and tomorrow I have/had things planned. I was actually excited and looking forward to it. Very odd for me because I LOVE being home.

Today was a trip to Berlin (Ohio in case you aren't from around here). I got some awesome things for my garden. I'm on a quest to find quirky/old/rusty things for interest. I'll get pictures once I place them.

I also got to feel like a queen today. 😂😂😂 I should have bought it for a reminder that I AM A QUEEN AND SO ARE YOU! 🙌

Tomorrow we are headed to Roger's Flea Market!!!! Ya'll I love flea markets.

Fashion fail to fashion save.

I didn't think about stretch jeans not fraying. You guessed it after washing nothing exciting happened. Bummer!

Then I googled how to fix it. I just sat here and snipped the bottom of the legs every 1/4" and rolled the bottom in between my hands to fray the end. I bet if I washed them again it would fray now. Yes. I did sew a topstitch around the pant leg so it could only fray so far and the leg seams wouldn't come apart.

I'm not sure if a good or bad decision was made here tonight. I bought these jeans for $5 at Ollie's and didn't see the back of the pant leg. Instead of using them for garden pants I figured why not experiment.

Again FB algorithm got me! I've been watching reverse applique videos and got a wild hair to try and upcycle these. So I cut off the bad part and added some fun fabric. Obviously when I wash them they will frey. Hopefully! ðŸĪž

The problem is I can't wash them until tomorrow when my new washing machine arrives. Yes! I'm grossed out about what is under my old one. But I can't move it myself so until my honey and his friend moved it today i couldn't clean.

So stay tuned for the new pants reveal. ðŸĨ°

What's one more project right? Not that I already have air dry clay drying, a rug started, and multiple quilt tops in progress. So many crafting videos are flooding my page. For once, FB algorithm is working in my favor 🙌.

Anyway, I thought I'd try napkin decopouge. Of course I've used fabric to do on stack boxes, but that's totally different. How am I going to finish it? ðŸĪ·â€â™€ïļ I have a couple ideas, maybe I'll do more than one. Yes, it seems like I jumped ahead to fall but I really haven't. I already had all this in my stash from (clearing my throat) maybe a couple years ago. ðŸĪŠ This should be fun since it is a little different than my normal.

Today my journey as a Mom to a special needs child began 31 years ago. We have both learned a lot throughout the years. She is the most kind hearted, animal loving, smart, and beautiful person I know. She has always tried her hardest and exceeded all expectations she was given.

Because I can't just do one craft at a time I decided to start something. I've been watching way to many crafting videos here on FB. 😂😂😂

Anyway, I went to the thrift store yesterday and found the flag cookie cutter for $.50. So of course I had to try it out! Well, then I remembered I had bought a circle and star one just for crafting. So, I had to try those out. It is Americana days here at the homestead obviously. 😉 This was my last block of air dry clay so no Santa faces until I get more. I honestly thought about making and Uncle Sam clay face doll like my Santa's but quickly decided against it for now to make these.

I have a lot of other ideas I want to try, but I don't want to have to many things going at once.
