BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND AT MIDDLE FARM:
Join us for three days of great food, local producers, tastings and family fun this August Bank Holiday weekend.

SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST
Our very own head butcher, aka Big Butcher Doug - will be hosting a pop-up BBQ, cooking up his delicious homemade summer skewers, served with pitta and homemade tasty sides.
We’ll also be welcoming WhamBam Mother Bhumi bringing delicious vegan street food to the farm. Serving from 11:30am.

SUNDAY 30TH AUGUST
Discover the flavours of Sussex with High Weald Dairy, who will be hosting a cheese tasting in the Farm Shop. A great opportunity to meet a local producer and sample some of their fantastic cheeses. From 10:30am

MONDAY 31ST AUGUST
Finish the Bank Holiday with wine tasting from Sussex winemakers Winklestone Vineyard at the Cider Barn - the perfect way to round off the long weekend. From 12:30

Don’t forget it’s the LAST WEEKEND of our Summer Time event on the Open Farm. Your Open Farm ticket includes plenty of family fun, including our inflatable assault course and tractor trailer rides.
On Monday, Magic Masks will also be here with face painting, which is included with your Open Farm ticket.

Will you be watching the partial solar eclipse this evening?

Taking place close to sunset, the Moon will pass in front of the Sun, creating the most remarkable and striking display.

From the UK and Ireland, this will be no ordinary partial eclipse. Around 90% of the Sun will be covered, making it an especially dramatic event - the closest we’ve come to a total solar eclipse in nearly 27 years from the British Isles.

Key timings for Sussex (approx.):
*First contact: 6:17pm
*Maximum eclipse: 7:12pm
*End of eclipse: around 8:06pm

The best viewing window will be between 6:30pm and sunset, with the peak just after 7pm.

As the Sun will be low, a clear western horizon is essential. Elevated areas such as the South Downs or open coastal locations will offer the best chance of a good view.

Remember to never look directly at the Sun without proper protection. Certified eclipse glasses or solar viewers are required - ordinary sunglasses are not safe.

Back in stock in the butchery counter - wild rabbit sourced directly from Eridge Park.

Lean, tender, and rich in natural flavour, this sustainably harvested game is perfect for a classic rabbit pie, or a rich Mediterranean ragù. Alternatively marinade in olive oil, lemon juice and garlic for about 4 hours and grill on the BBQ for about 30 minutes insuring the internal temperature reaches 160F at the thickest part of the thigh.
