Tonight from 6-8! Come beat the heat and try two refreshing wines from urban winery Bow & Arrow! Husband-and-wife team Scott and Dana Frank are producing wines from Loire Valley varieties in a winery in downtown Portland. Inspired by vignerons like Didier Barouillet of Clos Roche Blanche (who was an over-the-phone consultant on the project), Thierry Puzelat, and Marc Ollivier of Domaine de la Pépière, Dana and Scott set out to turn Oregon’s “Pinotstocracy” on its head. Fruit is sourced from some of the best cool-climate, organic or biodynamic vineyards around the Willamette Valley, and the work in the cellar is completely natural. The result is a set of serious, well-crafted, food-friendly, affordable wines that are a true homage to the Loire.

Tonight’s lineup includes the Time Machine Blanc - a blend of mostly Chenin Blanc that bursts with stone fruit and citrus zest - and the Time Machine Rouge - a bright and fresh blend of Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Cabernet Franc that’s perfect with a bit of a chill.

Let’s go Knicks! What better way to celebrate your orange and blue pride than to grab a magnum of this crushable, chillable red for the game! This cuvee came into creation in 2017 as a co-project of Sandrine Farrugia and Elian Da Ros to show that Merlot can be a versatile grape that can be vinified into a glouglou, easy to drink style through carbonic maceration. According to Sandrine, as the wine is so easy to drink, this cuvée is made only in magnums, ‘’just to make sure that there’ll be enough wine for 2 people.” Although we won’t judge you if you want to share it with a few more!

Tonight from 6-8! Come try two exciting new wines from the talented young winemakers behind Le Fontane in Sicily! Le Fontane is the result of a new generation’s vision, rooted in the land and legacy of Sicilian winemaking. Raised among the vineyards of their family estate, the Occhipinti siblings were immersed in the world of wine from an early age.

At COS, their father, Giusto Occhipinti, helped shape the philosophy of natural winemaking in Sicily. Under his guidance, they learned to respect the rhythms of the land, to appreciate the patience required in the cellar, and to understand the quiet power of tradition.

Now, building on that foundation, they are beginning a new chapter. They are crafting a personal vision—one that speaks to their time, their experiences, and their generation. While COS remains an essential reference point, Le Fontane seeks to develop its own language of wine, one that begins with a clean slate and an open mind.

Tonight’s lineup includes the Sabbie Rosse - a fresh and elegant red  - and Calcis - a refined mineral-driven skin-contact wine. Both wines are crafted from native grape varieties and fermented exclusively with indigenous yeasts, in full respect of the fruit and the land from which they come. Sure to impress at any gathering, while not breaking the bank.

Wednesday, June 10th in our loft space from 6:30-8pm!

Join us for: “A Riesling For All Seasons” wine class and tasting.

With the temperatures warming up, what better time to learn about the often-misunderstood Riesling wines from Germany. Contrary to popular belief, not all Rieslings are off-dry (although there are some damn good off-dry ones out there). German wine expert Collin Wagner from Vom Boden leads us through a variety of styles from a lineup of star producers. With German snacks (including Schnitzel!) from Marlow & Daughters.

$35 per person/ $30 for Wine Club members. Link to purchase in bio!

Tonight from 6-8! Come try three mouth-watering whites from Villa Tolnay. Their winery is located at the foot of the volcanic Csobánc hill, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton in western Hungary. The ancient volcanic soils and primeval sediments of the former Pannonian Sea give the wines an unmistakably volcanic expression, with distinctive minerality and vibrant acidity. The winery was founded in 2004, and today is comprised of 25 hectares on and around Csobánc.

Wines from Villa Tolnay are full-bodied and dry, with deep fruit notes, a strong minerality, high acid, and long aging potential. Philipp’s wines reflect the power of the Csobánc terroir, which causes well-known varietals to take on an extraordinary and delicious character.

Tonight’s line-up includes their Sauvignon Blanc - a ripe and acid-driven wine, the Tenger (“sea” in Hungarian) - a blend of Chardonnay, Riesling, Olasrizing (Welschriesling), and Gruner Veltliner, and their Olasrizling - which has a bright, almost effervescent quality. All three are perfect for sipping on a warm summer’s night.

Tonight from 6 to 8! Come try two elevated spring sippers from Dorsal Wines in Mendocino, California. The project is led by Devin Alexander Myers and Jenna St. George, who focus on crafting zero additive wines. They’re based on the coast on the Elk Ridge, while their winery is tucked underneath a redwood barn above their house. All grapes come from organic, dry-farmed, family vineyards in the coastal valleys and ridges of Mendocino County.

Tonight’s line-up features the skin contact Monsoon Sauvignon Blanc - bright and fresh with notes of apricot - and the Monsoon Orb Grenache - light on its feet but still packed with energy and vibrance. Both are perfect for a backyard hang or an impromptu dinner party.

Tonight from 6 to 8! Come try two beauties from the new generation of winemakers behind Scarbolo in the Fruili Grave region of northeastern Italy!

Valter Scarbolo, whose father began the winery in 1982, established a solid reputation for Scarbolo throughout his tenure in the late 1990’s and into the 21st century. Valter’s daughter Lara became involved in 2016, his son Mattia in 2020, and as the young siblings learned their craft, they began to imagine a different direction for the family winery—one less reliant on technology and more connected to the region’s pre-mechanization winegrowing traditions.

Rather than an overnight overhaul, however, Lara and Mattia—with Valter’s all-in encouragement and participation—slowly began phasing in their own experimental wines in 2020, fully taking the reins in 2022 and assigning increasingly significant portions of each harvest to their newly imagined bottlings.

In the world of wine, Pinot Grigio, the most widely planted variety at Scarbolo, too often succumbs to a sort of uninspiring neutrality. In Lara and Mattia’s skillful hands, however, the variety vibrates with the thrill of discovery. The siblings use Pinot Grigio’s naturally subdued fruit profile to their advantage, producing wines which foreground textural nuance and mineral potency, and leaning into the profound expressive capabilities of the variety’s deeply colored skins.

Tonight’s lineup includes the Mepari - sourced from Scarbolo’s oldest Pinot Grigio, and the Salvadi - Lara and Mattia’s ode to the unabashed delights of low-yielding Pinot Grigio produced with full-on extended skin contact. Neither are to be missed!

Tonight from 6 to 8! Come try two beautiful whites from Veneto producer Contra Soarda! Contrà Soarda is a new face in the Breganze appellation of North-East Italy, having only entered wine production in 1999. However, the Gottardi family has shown a devotion to the land that dates back to the early 20th century. In 1904, Gloria and Mirco’s ancestors bought a then-barren piece of land near the picturesque town of Bassano del Grappa. They put their life and soul into creating and maintaining their farm, an enterprise that developed into a restaurant in the 1960’s.

Beppa and Marcello Gottardi ran the restaurant for over 25 years until their son and his wife, Mirco and Gloria, took it over in 1986. Their passion for the finer things in life, food, wine, and sharing anecdotes in the Italian sun culminated in a lifelong dream to produce wine, so Contrà Soarda was born. In a little over ten years - with assistance from top winemaker Marco Barnabei - they have risen to become one of the region’s foremost producers.

Tonight’s lineup includes two expressions of the region’s native grape, Vespaiolo. The Breganze Vespaiolo Soarda 2024 is fresh and lively, with some nice minerality, while the Breganze Vespaiolo Vignasilan 2017 - the more limited of the two - is more rich and aromatic with notes of keylime and lemongrass.

Tonight from 6 to 8! Come meet Will Clarke - the founder and maker of Little City Vermouth - and join us for a spritz party! For more than two decades, Will has lived in Harlem and worked as a professional musician touring the world. While visiting Spain, he experienced the traditional Vermut service and was hooked! Upon returning home, Will got to work researching vermouth; its history, traditions, and most importantly, how to make it.

From there, Will began making his own vermouth in his Harlem apartment. Eventually, his project produced a vermouth that he preferred over any he could find in a local store. With a clear vision of what he wanted to make, Will sought out a winery partner to bring Little City to life. The search eventually led him to the Finger Lakes, and Hunt Country Vineyards, a seventh-generation farm just west of Keuka Lake.

The first bottling of Little City Vermouth was in July of 2018. The two styles (Sweet & Dry) are on a base of Cayuga, and Valvin Muscat grapes. The dry uses 37 botanicals. It is citrus-forward, bright, and energetic. The sweet is bold, rich and spicy. Reminiscent of a Torino style, made right here in New York. Both are perfect to enjoy on the rocks or with a spritz of soda water or prosecco (and don’t forget the orange slice).
