This cow has had only bulls, she finally popped out a heifer, a nice one at that! 911 can finally get off the hot seat now. She’s in with Talk Show for this years breeding, hopefully she can do it again!

This heifer has become a favorite of ours! She made the trip down from Mike Young’s place earlier this winter but finally slicked off to have a picture taken. She’s bred to his bull Sicario for a fall calf! Big thank you to Johnny Hicks for the ride to Tennessee and Jacob and Amy Miles for holding her so I could come get her.

This Fifty-Fifty daughter has always been a great mother, she stays well composed around my daughter even at feeding time. Veda makes sure she doesn’t have to move to get feed. We started using a C&B outdoors bait buggy to haul feed and it’s helped immensely!

I know I know, there’s a fence in the way. Veda and I were sitting on the boxes of my service truck looking at some cows and she finally decided to look our way. 911 is rocking through winter, this early spring type weather has us ready for green grass.

But seriously, I can’t thank Randy and Travis Johnson enough for letting me get a small piece of their pie here in Georgia. He had broken off over 7 inches of horn before he got here but will get remeasured this weekend to see where he stands. He’s calm, cool and loves a good showdown with a Mix30 lick tank.

This fantastic young 3 year old is Faux Fur, in some travels with the great Travis Johnson we made a stop at Randy Murry’s place. I spent the afternoon getting to know Randy and Jesse riding around looking at cattle and eventually made our way to the Texas treasure heifer sale. After that weekend I knew I needed some NACC in Georgia, I booked a trip back to Texas in early August for a weekend and ended up picking up this beautiful heifer.

These are the things that make the Longhorn world worth it. Making friends along the journey has far outweighed the cattle.

I know I know, she’s red but she’s got some sprinkles of white. We purchased “911” after our trip to see Suzanne Torkildsen. What is there not to like with Tempter on the top side and The great Nancy Carter Dunn breeding on the bottom.
