Happy Friday, Farm Family!

We are deep in the middle of a heat wave, and it feels like everything takes a little extra effort this time of year. Much of our focus has been on keeping crops irrigated, cooled, and thriving through the intense temperatures.

Unfortunately, we lost about 70% of our tomatillo and ground cherry crop to deer activity last night, along with some damage to our eggplant and peppers. We're already working on a solution and expect to stay on track for a great harvest later this season.

On a more positive note, we're excited to share that we successfully covered 100% of our blueberry field with netting for the first time ever! We're now working on fencing from the ground up to meet the netting from the top down, creating full protection for this year's crop.

Our team (so incredibly grateful for these humans who support this mission) has been hard at work w**ding, harvesting, prepping new beds, maintaining trellising, and seeding succession crops to keep the harvests coming.

This week in the farm stand fridge, you'll find:

Salad Mix
Bulk Bags of Salad Mix
Little Gem Lettuce Heads
Broccolini
Limited Cauliflower
Bok Choy
Escarole
Swiss Chard
Kale
Napa Cabbage
Garlic Scapes
Radishes
Scallions
Microgreens
Peas (just starting to trickle in)
Fresh Spring Garlic Pesto made with our organically grown spring garlic

You'll also find:
🌶️ A full restock from Ocean State Pepper Company, including some new additions
🥩 Beef from Steere Farm
🍁 Maple Syrup from Chepachet Farms
🍦 Ice Cream and Milk from Wright's Dairy Farm
🎨 Local artwork and handcrafted goods
🧼 Soaps from Herbs & Mylk

We also still have a limited selection of plant starts available, including:

🍅 Elite 1-Gallon Tomato Plants
🍅 Roma Tomatoes
🍅 Black Cherry Tomatoes
🫑 Red Bell Peppers
🫑 Italian Red Peppers
🥒 Snacking Cucumbers
🥬 Lettuce
🌿 Parsley
🌸 A small selection of flowers
🪴 Hanging Baskets

And one more exciting addition—fresh sourdough bread from Sashas Homemade will be delivered Saturday morning!

As always, our farm stand operates on a self-serve system seven days a week from sunup to sundown, and we'll be staffed on Saturday from 9 AM–1 PM.

Thank you for supporting local agriculture and small businesses. We couldn't do it without you.

Around the Farm

This week we put another 500+ feet into production, planting second successions of crops we haven't even harvested from the first planting yet! We've also spent a lot of time w**ding, pruning, trellising, and keeping everything healthy and growing strong.

This stage of the season is heavy on maintenance before harvest season fully takes over, and we're enjoying watching everything come together.

Looking for a Few Extra Hands

We're looking for a few volunteers to help hand w**d our blueberry field this Saturday (and potentially next Saturday, we will update on this)

Ideal volunteer time: 9:30 AM–11:30 AM

Volunteers should be comfortable:

* Bending and squatting
* Walking on uneven ground
* Working outdoors in the heat for a short period of time

If you're interested and available, please send us an email. We'd love the help!

Thank you all for supporting local agriculture and being part of our farm community. We truly couldn't do it without you.

See you at the farm,

Farm Update

We had another big push this week on the farm.

While our green light to order the new high tunnel has been delayed by some unexpected red tape, we shifted gears and found alternate space to get our peppers and eggplant planted. We're happy to report that over 500 plants were tucked into the ground yesterday alone.

We also completed our first major round of w**ding for the season! Volunteers have been hard at work trellising and pruning tomatoes to keep them healthy and productive.

This week we also tarped our first cover crop—a spring-sown stand of pea greens. This crop will be incorporated back into the soil, enriching a large planting block with natural nitrogen and organic matter. It feels like a gift to be able to grow our own fertility right here on the farm.

New T-Shirt Pre-Orders Open Now

We're opening pre-orders for what might be our favorite shirt design yet!

Pre-orders will only be open for 48 hours so we can get the order submitted quickly. We'll order a small number of extras, but if you'd like a specific size or color, we highly recommend placing a pre-order to guarantee yours.

Farm Stand Hours

The farm stand remains open 7 days per week from sunup to sundown on our honor market system.

Payment options:

Exact cash
Venmo

We are also staffed every Saturday from 9 AM – 1 PM, when we can accept all forms of payment.

Thank you for supporting local agriculture and being part of this community. We look forward to seeing you at the farm.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

The unofficial official start of summer is finally here — and we are so excited to celebrate the season with you.

Our community has shown up for us in such a big way already this year, and we feel incredibly lucky for every person who chooses to shop small and support local. Thank you for helping make our little farm community so special.

Farm Update

We had another productive week here on the farm.

Many more crops made their way into the ground, including green beans, ginger, carrots, lettuce, and more. Every week brings us a little closer to summer abundance.

The blueberry field is officially done being chipped (well...mostly), and while we're still fighting the good fight against winter moth pressure on our blueberry plants, fruit set is looking promising.

Tomato trellising is well underway — one of those jobs that always reminds us just how quickly the season starts moving.

And perhaps most importantly... we survived our first heat wave of the season.
