First generation farmers to the front row, please. Did you hear that man? He said it’s
i m p o s s i b l e for a kid straight out of high school to farm and live without inherited land. That hit home for me. If you’re a first generation-er like we are and you’re making it work, whether by quitting your 9-5 and finding ways to diversify or working off farm to help grow the farm, you should be proud. It’s really hard to take credit for something that you work in every day. But every day we don’t become a statistic of another farm gone away is a day to celebrate 👏👏

Sometimes things just work out! We are super pleased that Charlotte from Woodstone Meadows Stables reached out looking for a Brahman companion for her Highlqnd steer at their petting zoo. We were happy to offer her “Lucy” our Free Martin heifer from this Spring. Call me a sucker, but I hate to see a heifer go to freezer camp. We’re glad she’ll get to be loved on, even if halter breaking isn’t her favorite pastime 😅 Go see them and scratch on our girl!

We have two goals here: for quality to improve year over year and to raise cattle that our customers can be comfortable in the field with. Pictures and videos like these mean the world to us, and help us know we’re on the right track! We’re glad Miles found a good home where he gets just as many scratches as he got here.
