I'm getting settled in my new home in Sesser, Illinois and am loving spinning on the back porch while admiring the flowers, hummingbirds and Purple Martins. I dyed both these skeins yesterday. The one on the left is 100% French Angora (handspu) and the one on the right is 90% mohair, 10% Angora (mill spun). I really enjoyed the process this time. I think because I only did the 2 skeins. In the past, I'd make dyeing a major project and would be worn out half way through.
We're making progress on the rabbit area in the barn. The family will be concentrating their efforts on finishing it up before Friday. I'm headed back to Michigan this weekend to cheer on the Detroit Tigers and pick up the rabbits. Many Thanks to Deb Sloan and Deeter Sloan for housing the rabbits until I could get their new home set up.

Ever wanted to have your own small farm in Central Michigan? Now's your chance. I'm relocating to Mt Vernon Illinois to be closer to these two special people. I have wonderful friends but found I was just too lonely without Don. I'll be vending at the Fresh Coast Fiber Festival, Dances With Wool Free Fleece Days, Michigan Fiber Festival and Northern Michigan Fiber Festival this year so I look forward to seeing you all there.

I'm amazed by the engineering of our ancestors. My son found this broken swift at a yard sale and made a few repairs to get it in working order. I was a bit skeptical. I just got yarn back from Windy Acres Fiber Mill (Thank you! It's lovely!) made from my mohair with a touch of angora and wool. I was sceptical that this archaic simple machine would be accurate. So far, I've wound 4 skeins and they were accurate by yardage and within 0.1 ounce of each other by weight. Amazing.

Had a fun time today at The Christmas Show. I had time to visit with friends. It was a treat to have angora friends from out of state at the show. Bonnie's Avalanche was awarded Best of Breed in all 3 of today's shows. Many Thanks to David Moll and his family and team for hosting the most joyous show of the year.

Update: The REWs are relocating to Wisconsin. and the Lilac will be spoiled rotten at Triple F Farm. Thank you ladies.
I have 3 French Juniors ready to hop. 1 REW doe second at Convention, 1 REW buck, 1 Lilac doe. They would be glad to travel to MSU and the Christmas Show. Saturday only. Direct message me for more details.

Checkout went very smoothly thanks in part to the 2 carts that Mary-Elizabeth Garrity Whitehouse gifted me. I was able to get all my rabbits checked out in one trip! The red buggy also served as a holding pen for each of my rabbits while their coop was cleaned each day. I should have taken a photo. It really was pretty cute.
Got home at 2:30. Bunnies and I are all glad to be home. Safe travels to the other exhibitors traveling to both coasts, Japan and Thailand.

I did well showing yesterday White jr doe (Sister to your little doe Sue Scott Needle) and colored jr doe both placed second, White sr buck and colored senior doe placed 3rd. White sr doe 6th and colored Sr buck 8th. Had a wonderful afternoon with the Grandkids, the cousins, Paul Ayers and Erin Hocking Ayers and Lauren Hocking. Thank you Carol Forkum for spending so much time teaching the kids about Rex rabbits. Last evening was dinner with the Czech Frosty Club and I took my turn at the Angora booth this morning. A nice photo of Sue Scott Needle and her big win is hanging in the booth. Now I'm off to watch Best in Show.
