I have black and emerald F1 Olive Eggers, blue/copper/birchen MGOE, blue Heavenly Jewel™️, light blue Heavenly Seaflower™️(barred), black Ameraucana(with copper), blue Marans (with birchen necks)

These boys have been mentored by my adult roosters and are handled almost daily. Very sweet. Many will be quite large, especially the F1 OE and Marans boys. My Heavenly Seaflower™️ boy is already in a pen with young pullets and is covering them. His light blue barred feathering is absolutely stunning!!

Many years ago I bought a condo and the kitchen had to be gutted due to mold. I had no fridge or stove for 7-months, worked 3 jobs 7-days/week, and had two children under 6years old.

I bought a big top tea pot and had the idea of steaming my salmon on top of my veggies. It turned out to be a massive winner!!! I also tried steaming rice with veggies layered on top and then salmon on top of that. I couldn’t believe how well it worked.

Steaming salmon is delicious and holds a lot more moisture than baking or grilling and is a lot faster. I have done this now for over 17 years and prefer it to other ways of cooking my salmon unless I am baking potatoes with it, which is very rare these days.

Now I just use a pot, which works perfectly, especially when I have a stove to cook on😂

I usually add just a little water on the bottom, about 1/2-1 inch covering the bottom of the pot. Then I add my veggies and then my salmon. I add a splash of olive oil and a generous amount of garlic powder. Cover and once it starts boiling, turn it slightly down and let cook for 10-min for a 1/2 pound fillet. Bigger pieces will take longer.
