Wide Awake Bakery We bake for you. Thor and Dan, at Oechsner Farms, grow the grains, and the gang at Farmer Ground Flour grind those grains between stones to make our flour.

At the Bakery, we mix and ferment and shape that flour into loaves (pretzels... pastry... pasta)

T-Minus 9 minutes until fresh Challah & PUMPKIN BABKA!! That’s right— Large & Small challah loves, and the return of babka just in time to celebrate our autumnal crops. This week’s babka are just sweet enough to be a treat, while still highlighting the flavor of gently spiced pumpkin. We’re obsessed, and we didn’t even get to eat ours with one of our cappuccinos… you know what to do!!!

Dear Friends,
You may have noticed in your recent stops by the bakery that we have implemented a 10% ‘cost of living’ service fee to every sale. Where does this money go? The entirety of this fee is divided directly among our wonderful store and bakery staff.

We are so happy to announce that in the first two weeks of this service fee, it has successfully brought every member of our team ABOVE the Tompkins County Living Wage! We are extraordinarily thankful for our incredible community, and our team is jumping for joy!

It’s more expensive than ever to produce our products, but this is not a price increase. Instead, all of this money goes directly back to all the people who make those products happen. Our bakers, packers, bread slingers, baristas, drivers– everyone.

Next time you swing by and see that little fee, you are helping support everyone behind the scenes and at the store.
