Poppy & Yarrow are back! 🦉 Our resident barn owl pair has returned to nest in the demonstration vineyard at the Lodi Wine Visitor Center.
Barn owls play an important role in vineyard ecosystems by helping to manage rodent populations naturally. Just one example of how thoughtful farming and nature thrive together in Lodi wine country.
And this season won’t last long. Nesting activity typically wraps up by late spring/early summer as the young chicks prepare to fledge and leave the nest.
🦉 Want a closer look? You can now peek inside the nest live via we**am, provided by Lauren M. Jackson, M.Sc. candidate at Cal Poly Humboldt.
🍷 Visiting Lodi soon? Be sure to stop by the Lodi Wine Visitor Center in the coming weeks to explore the vineyard while Poppy, Yarrow, and their chicks are still at home.
