Fun day on the farm… The Hoof trimmer with her tilt table came to give the cows their mani’s pedi’s (The Happy Hoofer) She did an awesome job!
Meanwhile the chickens are moved to a new paddock. When the barn is empty it’s fun to walk the hayloft and see the sights… Moe is happy under the Rhododendron bush!

I love spring on the farm! I wouldn’t miss it for anything.
Today’s job was raking out some dead stuff and weeding and adding manure to asparagus bed and sifting compost!
FYI: I must have taken out 40 of those plastic labels that appear on individual items of fruit …you know the country of origjn labels… while interesting info … they do not biodegrade -not one bit!
So another reason to buy from a local farmer this season… you know who grew it and think of the plastic you’re saving!
But you got to admire those tough eggshells!
I use this compost for my flower boxes and pots.

Thank you to everyone who visited our family farm on Maple Weekend 2026!
A wonderful spring time event! (Even though it was a little cold with some snowflakes on Sunday. ) …The hugs and smiles and shared stories were bright spots in our day indeed!
And thank you to our crew who made the event a good one for all!
Today the sap ran and since I could take a break from making maple products I went with Larry on a sap run. Hauled a full load back with “The Blue Truck” and soon it will be more delicious maple syrup!
