NOW HIRING! Manitou Acres is looking for a few hard working teenagers to join our lavender harvest crew this season, mornings only, 8 AM–12 PM, 4–5 days a week at the farm in Maple City (see video/photos). Dates are roughly late-June/early-July through mid-August.
The job is hand-harvesting lavender with pruners, bundling stems for drying, and helping keep the field and processing area tidy (everything will be taught to you). It's outdoor work in one of the prettiest spots in Leelanau County — and you're done by lunch every day, so afternoons are yours!
This could be a great fit for a local or seasonal high schooler looking for a real summer job — outdoors, hands-on, and a chance to see how a growing lavender farm operates. Just need to be reliable, friendly, on time, and okay with bees (they're busy with the flowers, not you).
If that sounds like your teenager or someone you know, please send me a message or share this post with them! Happy to share more.
