Our grandfather made wine for the family on the island of Hvar. He never wasted a drop.

That spirit is still in everything we do at Tudor Wines. Which is why we want to talk about something that doesn't get enough attention: what happens to our wine after you open the bottle.

We put everything into selecting vineyard specific fruit from cool climate sites such as the Santa Lucia Highlands. We handpick at peak ripeness. We ferment in small batches — by hand. We age in the finest French oak. Every step is deliberate.

So the idea of that same wine going flat after having just one glass? That's something we think about.

This is why we use argon gas preservation — and why we encourage you to do the same at home. A quick spritz of this inert, odorless gas into an opened bottle creates a protective blanket between your wine and oxygen. It's the same science fine tasting rooms have relied on for years.

Our 2023 Tondre Vineyard Pinot Noir deserves more than one evening. The ripe berries, the subtle spice, the finish that lingers — those notes are still there days later when you preserve it right.

Two thousand years of winemaking taught us one thing above all else: respect what's in the glass. 🍷

Some terroir speaks in whispers. This one commands the room.

The Santa Lucia Highlands and Santa Barbara County aren't just appellations — they're arguments for why California Pinot Noir deserves a seat at any serious table. Cool misty mornings, marine-influenced fog, and ancient soils push the vine to produce something remarkable: intensity with restraint.

Tudor Wines captures exactly that tension. What pours into the glass is luminous garnet, edged with the kind of depth that only cool-climate growing can coax from Pinot Noir. Dried cherries, wild strawberry, and a whisper of forest floor give way to silken tannins and a finish that lingers long after the glass is empty.

Tonight, we're pairing it with a roasted mushroom risotto — the wine's earthy undertones finding a perfect counterpart in porcini and thyme. This is what food and wine harmony actually looks like.

That’s where our Nacina Wein der Eisbox (aka "Ice Wine") come in. They’re sweet, rich, and lively — great on its own as a desert wine but also an easy way to add a bright pop of flavor to cocktails without the extra work.
