Coco Jr. needs his own flock. He keeps trying to bully Oreo and take his ladies. He is currently in time out. I won't judge if you think he would be good in the slow cooker for Christmas.

Dogwood bush Arch trimmed so I can get in the coop. No peaches or plums this year they are losing the battle with nature and wildlife. My pretty peach tree is proof duck tape can fix anything. 3 apple trees have survived and are full of apples.

Reminder as temperatures drop: Heat lamps are not safe in coops.

Heat lamps KILL AGAIN. Yesterday a Tennessee family lost their home and animals were killed. In the past week alone, several news reports tell of heat lamp fires that left families HOMELESS and chickens DEAD from the unnecessary use of this DANGEROUS, OBSOLETE piece of equipment.
Heat lamps are inherently UNSAFE with flying animals! It's not about how carefully they are used!!
Please LEARN THE TRUTH & UNDERSTAND the NEEDS of adult chickens and baby chicks and the SAFE equipment available for meeting those needs in these articles on my website:

2) WHETHER to Heat the Coop: http://bit.ly/2O0atcv

3) How Much Heat Baby Chicks REALLY Need: http://bit.ly/2WlErwm

My Pinterest board contains over 500 fires caused by heat lamps, but there are countless near-misses and fires that don't make it into the news every year. Read the news stories of avoidable tragedy yourself: https://www.pinterest.com/TheChicknChick/heat-lamp-fires/

Squirrels got all the plums. Frost may have prevented the raspberries from growing . Combination of storm and too many peaches even after thinning has damaged my best peach tree. If dear dont eat the low peaches they will be ripe soon. Tree will under go alot of pruning this year.

Oreo disappeared today. This roo survived a dog attack months ago and finally had all his tail feathers back. He lost two girls last month. I wish I knew what got them. Only 4 hens left in the small house. I need to decide wether to get a new roo or try to move the 4 hens to Speckles house. I guess they are all on lock down tomorrow.
