Sad day for me . Happy day for the fat fox. It took 2 of of my best girls. I didn't even hear them. Usually I hear them and can chase it off.Unfortunate risk of free ranging for extra yummy eggs.
I will miss getting the extra blue eggs. Down to 2 blue and 2 green layers. ( The rest are shades of brown). * not my photos ...stock photos of what they looked like. RIP girls
Lead mama
3 mommas have been busy.
Dogwood bush Arch trimmed so I can get in the coop. No peaches or plums this year they are losing the battle with nature and wildlife. My pretty peach tree is proof duck tape can fix anything. 3 apple trees have survived and are full of apples.
Reminder as temperatures drop: Heat lamps are not safe in coops.
Straight run chicks up for discussion.
Found missing hen in the trap. They have never done this before.
Say hi to Mommas new chicks. Momma and her chicks are moving to their own coop until they are bigger.
Mischief heard some peeps and had to investigate. Momma hen hissed at her.
Squirrels got all the plums. Frost may have prevented the raspberries from growing . Combination of storm and too many peaches even after thinning has damaged my best peach tree. If dear dont eat the low peaches they will be ripe soon. Tree will under go alot of pruning this year.
Old coop getting some love. Still needs a few more repairs and a new run. Picture of it when it was brand new in this group of photos
Blackberries in bloom.
Almost time for Black Raspberries
Love to see the farm giving back to us for all our hard work.
