🌽Sweet corn is winding down and yesterday was the last day for sweet corn at the Walker Farm farmstand. Thank you to the Walkers for inviting us and expanding their Farm Store offerings this year with sweet corn! Follow their page for their farm store hours and offerings.🌽💛
🌽We will be stocking both the Apple Tree Farm and Garden Divas-Downtown farmstands for another few days. The 6th planting has good corn but it takes time to find, and the 7th planting doesn't have much at all, so consider this the last week of sweet corn until next year! At this point, we will try to have corn through Labor Day--we will see.

🌽⚠️SWEET CORN WARNING⚠️🌽 Now is the time for one last meal or putting some corn up for winter. The corn crew is finding good corn in the 6th planting, but it's a slow pick and may be done in the next couple days. We are hoping to have corn through Labor Day but that might be a stretch.

🌧Rain! About 0.75 inches this morning.🙌 Finally a little something to knock the dust down. The raspberries are the happiest, I think. It's a big farm kitchen day for us today. Grandma is here running the show...salsa for sure!

Drought Update:
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor update shows our farm is now in or near the D3 Extreme Drought area.

Last week, I shared our farm was in the D2 Severe Drought zone. Unfortunately, conditions have continued to decline in Pierce County, WI.

Without rainfall, there is less water soaking into the ground to recharge the aquifers where our water comes from. 100% of Pierce County’s drinking water comes from groundwater right beneath our feet.🚰

How to help:

🌱 Let your lawn go dormant. It will recover when conditions improve.

🚿 Skip unnecessary outdoor water use. Every little bit helps.

🧺 Run full loads in your dishwasher and washing machine.

🌧️ When rain does come, let it soak in. Keep rainwater on your property whenever possible instead of sending it down the driveway or street.

🌽 Support local farmers. Drought can mean smaller produce, lower yields or crops that don't look quite as perfect as usual. But imperfect doesn't mean it isn't delicious—or that it wasn't grown with a whole lot of love.
