We’ve been back home for a few days now, but we had an incredible time at The All American Quarter Horse Congress! It was Tanner’s first time showing at such a major event, and he did fantastic! Tanner and Lazy Lady Chip (“Swag”) showed in the Amateur Walk-Trot Western Pleasure and finished 12th out of roughly 70 entries!

He also showed She Made Martinis (“Scarlett”) in the Non-Pro Longe Line. It was only her second time showing, as she had the summer off. They had a fabulous go and ended up as Congress finalists, placing 16th out of about 25! Scarlett was bred, raised, and trained by us — which makes it even more special.

We’re so proud of both of them and can’t wait to see what these three accomplish next year!

What a fun and emotional few days it’s been! We just got back from the Back to Berrien show in Berrien Springs, MI. Even though things didn’t go quite as we’d hoped showing and placings-wise, it was still such an awesome experience.

Dreams coming to fruition—getting to watch Tanner show our homebred yearling, She Made Martinis, in the Longe Line was such a proud moment. He’s put in so much hard work, learning everything on his own without any formal training or prior show experience. From figuring out all the details of longe line prep to getting her completely show-ready, he’s truly thrown himself into it. Seeing it all come together in the ring was something really special.

If you’ve never shown at Back to Berrien, we definitely recommend it. The outdoor setup, small-town fairground feel, and the chance to see so many talented horses from all over the country make it a really special show.

Big thanks to everyone who pitched in, supported us, and shared tips along the way—we’re so grateful. Can’t wait to see how the rest of the summer unfolds!
