🌟 WORLD FINALS BOUND! 🌟

What a year it has been for Allison Wiens, and we couldn’t be more proud to share some incredibly exciting news!

After an outstanding season of hard work, determination, and success in the show pen, Allison has officially earned an invitation to compete at the NCHA World Finals in the $50,000 Non-Pro!

So, what exactly does that mean?

It means Allison has earned her place among the TOP 15 competitors IN THE WORLD in her class! 🌎🏆

To put that into perspective, cutting horse competitors spend the entire year traveling across the entire world, competing at NCHA-sanctioned events, and working to earn enough money to climb the world standings. Only the top 15 in each eligible division receive an invitation to compete at the prestigious NCHA World Finals.

Earning a spot among those 15 is no small accomplishment. It takes countless hours in the saddle, miles on the road, early mornings, late nights, an incredible equine partner, and a level of dedication that few people outside the industry ever get to see.

And Allison has done just that!

At the end of November, Allison and Cattahoochie Sue will step into the pen alongside some of the very best in the sport, proudly representing Wiens Ranch as they compete for their chance at an NCHA World Championship title.

For our family, this accomplishment means so much more than a spot on a leaderboard. We have always believed in putting in the work, respecting the horses, and pursuing excellence in everything we do. Watching Allison’s dedication and passion translate into this incredible opportunity is something we are immensely proud of.

Allison, congratulations on an extraordinary season and on earning your place among the best in the world. You’ve worked incredibly hard for this opportunity, and we cannot wait to watch you and Cattahoochie Sue take on the World Finals!

The entire Wiens Ranch family will be cheering you on every step of the way! ❤️🐴

FORT WORTH, HERE WE COME! 🏆

We take what we do seriously.

When we breed a horse, our goal is not simply to produce a horse that can make a great cutting horse. We breed with intention, carefully considering the cross, the build, the mind, the athletic ability and the temperament we are putting together.

Because not every horse will find its calling in the cutting pen.

But that doesn’t mean it can’t be exceptional.

This breakaway horse is a great example of why we believe in breeding and raising horses with purpose. We want to produce horses with the quality, athleticism, trainability and temperament to succeed wherever their talents take them.

Our job is to give each horse the best possible foundation and the best possible chance to excel.

We are proud to raise horses that can go on to become great cutting horses, rope horses, ranch horses, performance horses and partners for their people.

The discipline may change.

The standard does not.

We raise with purpose. And we take great pride in seeing these horses succeed beyond our own arena. We are cheering on Haiden Thompson and Dingo (we called him Reydar)!!!

🐴 NEW TO CUTTING? START HERE! SOUND ON! ROTATE YOUR PHONE.

Ever watched a cutting horse work a cow and wondered, “What exactly are they looking for?”

We put together a quick Basics of Cutting video to give you a general overview of how a run is judged, what the horse and rider are trying to accomplish, and some of the penalties that can affect a score.

You’ll hear terms like:
• Herd work
• Controlling the cow
• Degree of difficulty
• Eye appeal
• Courage
• Time worked
• And the penalties that can add points to a run

Penalties can range from 1, 3, or 5 points depending on the infraction, while certain situations can result in a zero score.

This video is **not a comprehensive breakdown of every NCHA rule**, but it’s a great place to start if you’re new to cutting or simply want to better understand what you're watching in the arena.

So next time you’re watching a run, you’ll have a better idea of what the judges are looking for and why those scores matter.

Watch, learn, and then come see it in person! 🤠🐴
