This past weekend at a show, I was reminded—deeply and humbly—of what makes the alpaca community so special.

When an emergency arose with one of the animals, people didn’t hesitate. No one waited to be asked. They simply stepped in, offering whatever they could, doing whatever was needed. In that moment, we weren’t competitors. Ribbons and results didn’t matter. What mattered was coming together.

We became what we truly are at our core—a community, a family—supporting one another without question. And even though the outcome wasn’t what we had all hoped for, we faced it side by side, with compassion and strength.

To everyone who stepped forward to help—you know who you are—thank you. Your kindness and selflessness meant more than words can express.

I’ve always believed the alpaca community is something special. This past weekend proved it beyond measure.
