For the past several days I have been mowing one field, trying to get ahead of the much needed rain! I almost made it, spending the last two hours on day 3 mowing in the rain.

SO many praying mantis and beautiful garden spiders makes mowing take a bit longer as I dismount the mower to relocate these beneficial creatures. ❤️❤️

We have a new K and E Tree Farm mascot - meet Bunny Bun Buns! A few months ago, this domestic rabbit appeared here at the farm. Likely dumped but "he" seems to be doing great. Ruben and Niblette seem to know he's "off limits", lol. Photo courtesy one of our wonderful HH guests.

🤦‍♂️happens every year! It is Tansy Ragwort season and I have been pulling it for several weeks now. My back is not happy but the TR won’t pull itself!
TR is a biennial plant, (every other year the production explodes), and 2026 is an explosion year. In 2024, I hit it HARD! I pulled so much of it I gave myself severe tendinitis! My point here being, I really feel like this year I didn’t have as much as I did in 2024👍.
For those who don’t know, TR is a noxious, invasive w**d that is toxic to livestock. It does no good to just pull the plant, you have to bag the flower heads in black plastic bags. If you don’t, they just go to seed anyway😡. So, I pull the plant, cut the flowers off and only put those in the bag. Why pay to dump the whole plant when you can just toss the stem. Yes, it takes more time but I have saved on bags by doing it this way. So far, I have filled 5 bags with flowers and am onto bag #6. I have dumped (losing track), 5 loads of stems out of the Gator.
There you have it, the latest on what has been happening at K and E Tree Farm😁

Not Christmas trees but still trees on our farm. Today I tackled our small patch of Wilamette Valley Ponderosa Pines with the mower! Several photos I added arrows to, to show how tall the grass is🤪

I added the distant photo of our Noble Fir stand just because they looked pretty with the sun lightly touching their blue needles.

Still so much mowing to do but I feel like I might actually be getting a handle on it🤞

I just had thee BEST delivery driver EVER deliver a small HD package!! I admit, when the personal truck was first pulling up, I thought....um, what the heck is that? Then is saw it!! On the back window in large PINK letters it read "Gambler 500"! For those of you who have never hear of Gambler 500, I thought I knew what they were about until I "quizzed" Lisa.

Gambler 500 is a group of people all across the US who meet up, drive to pre-selected campsites and from there, they walk through the woods picking up trash left behind by the lazy folks who can't seem to pack out what they pack in.

What Gambler 500 does is right up my alley with tree farming. Here at K and E Tree Farm we do our absolute best to not waste any part of the trees that are cut down. We recycle and re-use everything we can.

Lisa is a mother of 4 grown children who supports this crazy good lifestyle by door dashing, delivering for Home Depot and etc.

I hope she's not late delivering her next item, I may have taken up a bit of her time with my excitement hearing about what she does and how she supports it!

To say I am behind in mowing is an understatement! We literally had ZERO winter and the grass/clover is thrilled!!

Here at K and are Tree Farm, even though I have a LOT of catch up work to do, I much prefer mowing to using herbicides (chemicals) to control the grass!!

It is going to take a day….or ten to get this field under control. All while other fields I have mowed already need mowing again.

Honestly not complaining! I love it here and mowing is Instant gratification❤️❤️

Yesterday was the perfect day to mow the Grand Stand! Of course, I had to add a few cloud pics (the moon is in one of them). Ruben sat out this one as supervisor. He’s not a fan of how loud the mower is.

First, a disclaimer. I am NOT a selfie kind of gal but am posting one of these pics anyway due to the importance it has to both Eric and I.

We here at K and E Tree Farm have more than Christmas trees! We also have timber trees and are part of the WA tree farm program.

Several months ago Elizabeth contacted me to let me know we have not only been re-certified, (with flying colors), but they also have a new to us sign available. Ummmm, yes please!!

What you are looking at is All recycled material (I.e., free sign minus my amazingly talented husband’s labor)!!

Eric Bernard sketched out what he wanted the sign to look like. Built it using all recycled materials and voila - perfection! Thank you, Eric!❤️❤️
