This rare 1988 bottle, believed to be a Riesling Icewine, was recently uncovered in the cellar of a restaurant abroad Though time has nearly erased the label, the wine itself told the story beautifully. Opened nearly four decades later, it was described as ‘amazing, we were so amazed how fresh it still was, furthermore it had no signs of faults or decay. I’d say it’s at its prime.’

A reminder that truly great wines are built to endure.✨

Long weekend plans? Start with our Rosé Brut, proudly featured in the May 9 Vintages release.

‘This gamay-based rosé is a low-dosage Brut with a vibrant and savoury character. Delicate but lofty lees keep the fruit afloat on the palate that is marked by flavours of cranberry, cherry, lavender, thyme and chalky minerality. Pleasantly nervy with mouthwatering, palpable tension. Versatile with food but suggested pairings include miso salmon carpaccio or deep-fried calamari. Score 91.
