Fox Song Farm is a small holding dedicated with seasonal offerings (farmgate sales) at the Fox Song Farmstand. We aim to offer pumpkins in fall, veg and herb starts in spring, and eggs as available. And, of course, if we experience an over abundance of anything, we'll make it available to our farmstand family! Fox Song Farm is associated with Fox Song Books, and is connected through literary, creative, spiritual, and health and wellness perspectives. At our tiny farmstand, we also host a little free library. Come and find your next read! Fox Song Farm is home to horses, chickens, and other farmyard critters, many of whom have found a sanctuary here after lives in commercial venues. Fox Song Farm promotes a natural living environment, balanced with safety for both creatures and humans. Our gardens and maintained using organic methods, and our happy hens are free range.

The magic of late September ... asters shining, pumpkins orange-ing, tomatoes as big as small pumpkins, beans nearly ready for podding, finding hidden squash, glorying in late zinnia and the seemingly everlasting cosmos ... and, of course, the root vegetables and cabbages and kales are in their glory. Jalapeños just don't wanna quit this season. Temps are going to start going down at night this week, so I'll be moving them to the hoop house. I love having them in grow bags. Really makes it much easier to overwinter them, too.

Well. Maybe for tiny Cinderellas ... I bought fresh pumpkin seed this past spring to replenish my saved-seed stores. My favorite pumpkin variety is Cinderella pumpkins, those deeply clefted kind of round but flattish big pumpkins that look like they rolled out of a picture book. Well. I guess the seeds were mislabeled. My 'Cinderella' pumpkins are cute ... but oh, so tiny! Good thing I planted some more standard Jack'o lantern and pie pumpkins, too.

Green beans. There is nothing like freshly picked pole beans and I've finally settled on my two favorite types: Hilda, a Romana-type meatier flat bean, and Seychelles, a thin stringless bean. Both such good eating and so productive!
