Ian’s heifer, SamHolm SideKick Seven, affectionately known as “Seven” was born with the very obvious number 7 on her forehead. But that isn’t the only reason that she received that name.
To fully understand, here’s a bit of her history. You see, Seven comes from a line of “denim jeans” names. Her grand-dam was known as Miss Me, and her dam is Judy Blue. Having a half-sister named Guess, we knew we had to continue!
It was suggested to Ian by yours truly, months before she was even born, that maybe we should name her Seven due to the popular brand of jeans called “7 For All Mankind” that have a 7 stitched on the pockets. Ian wasn’t into it, and decided to wait until she was born to name her.
During his morning round to check on Judy Blue, Ian found she had calved unassisted one sunny December morning. And it was VERY clear to Ian upon his first good look at her that she definitely chose her name. And that his mom is always right! 😉
