🇦🇷🐂 This week our Red Angus group spent a few days at the Argentine National Angus Show in Buenos Aires.

Highlights:
🏆 enjoyed watching quality cattle in the show ring
🐂 Walked the show barns and studied cattle up close
🤝 Visited with exhibitors, breeders, and industry leaders
📊 Learned more about the Argentine Angus industry and breeding programs
🌎 Exchanged ideas with cattlemen and women who share a passion for great cattle

What stood out most was the enthusiasm surrounding the breed and the consistent focus on:
✔️ Functionality
✔️ Phenotype
✔️ Performance

It's always encouraging to see breeders around the world committed to producing cattle that work for the industry and their customers.

🇦🇷🐂 Today our group of cattlemen and cattlewomen from Montana, Missouri, and Kentucky and Arkansas (us 😊) visited the Argentine Angus Association to learn more about Angus cattle and the beef industry in Argentina.

Some impressive statistics:
• 51 million head of cattle 3rd highest per capita
• 70%+ Angus influence in the national herd
• 200,000 beef cattle breeders
• 700,000 animals in genetic evaluation
• 100,000+ Angus registrations annually
• 240+ Angus-sponsored sales each year
*Red and Black cattle are integrated in the herd book

We also learned about their genetic evaluation program, feed efficiency initiatives, certified beef program, and the role Angus genetics play throughout Argentina's beef supply chain.

🇦🇷🐂 A great second day at Fortín Quieto learning about cattle production in Argentina.

We enjoyed seeing their cow herd and visiting with the team about their breeding and management philosophy. The gauchos’ horsemanship and stockmanship were impressive and a reminder that great cattle programs are built by great people.

We wrapped up the visit around the parrilla sharing outstanding beef and conversation.
