Saturday, Sept 25th (tomorrow) is opening day for upick pumpkins at our home farm in Hamilton!
Reservations can be made for tomorrow and the rest of the fall season at https://wegmeyerfarmsshop.com/pick-your-own-pumpkins/
We have a spectacular upick field and look forward to sharing it with you and your family. We’ve planted approximately 85 different varieties this year and our old historic stone barn is also loaded to the max for all you who love fall, love decorating and love pumpkins!
The reservation system will be much the same as it was last year for pumpkins. Reservations are $30 for your entire family and includes your first $30 in pumpkin purchases. Sept 17 update:
Happy Constitutional Day.
🍓Today is the first day of strawberry planting for the 2022 crop! For the next several days we will be busy planting and tending to our strawbabies to get them off to a good start. The first few weeks are critical to their health.
🎃Also, today we are announcing our upick pumpkin fall season is starting Sept 25. Reservations are now available for the entire season on our website https://wegmeyerfarmsshop.com/pick-your-own-pumpkins/
This year we’ve got over 85 (yes 85) varieties of pumpkins and gourds of every size shape and color. Due to staffing challenges we will only be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the fall season at our home farm location in Hamilton. Our home farm location is pure authentic fun with no frills ..just old fashion simple pleasures.
If you are seeking more thrills and want to have hours and hours of entertainment (corn maize, jumping pillow, pumpkin drop, cannons, animals, etc) we invite you to check out our partner farm in Berryville. Waysidefarmfun.com
We hope you all are doing well and hope to see you and your family this fall.

Last strawberry update for the year.
Our 2021 strawberry harvest season is over! It was a successful one thanks to all of you who participated in it one way or another. Our entire Wegmeyer family (Tyler, Harriet, Torsten, Tucker and Colden) is so appreciative of the support from our friends/neighbors/community/customers and all local strawberry lovers who not only came to get strawberries, but showed kindness to us and all of our farm team staff. You created memories for all of us that will make our lucky 13th season go down as one of our best. And we can’t wait until next season! (only about 317 more days ..but who’s counting?!!)
Have a berry great summer everyone 🍓 and we hope to see many of you for our fall season of upick pumpkins 🎃

update; we are sold out of strawberries for the day/season at Gilberts Corner!
Strawberry update for Friday June 18th
Good morning from the strawberry field ☀️
We will be at Gilbert’s Corner today with fresh picked strawberries starting around 10:30ish with the first load up from the field and then another bunch at about 12:15. Quantities are limited as we are VERY close to the end at Gilbert’s with pre-picked. Donut flavors today are strawberry, lemon and cinnamon sugar and we’ve got the last of the strawberry jam also ready for the trip home with you.
Upick: It’s been a great upick harvest but both locations are now closed for the season.

Message from our entire Wegmeyer family (Tyler, Harriet, Torsten, Tucker and Colden):
Thank you to each and every one you for taking part one way or another in our 2021 strawberry harvest season. It’s been a successful season and all the support we’ve gotten from our community/friends/neighbors and customers has been overwhelming and we are extremely grateful.
Thank you !🍓

1:30 update. We’ve still got a bunch of strawberries left at Gilbert’s and will be here until about 3

Morning strawberry update for Thursday, June 17
Good morning from the Gilbert’s Corner field. I just brought up 3/4 of a truck load from the field and the berries are nice but volume isn’t as great as yesterday. Still a decent amount. I ate some in the field for breakfast and they are still really really good however as most of you know late season berries especially don’t have much of a shelf life. They need to be eaten ASAP or capped and frozen. At about 12:15 we will have another dozen or so buckets coming up from the field. I will update this post if/when we sell out. Today’s donut flavors of the day are lemon, strawberry and cinnamon sugar.
Upick: I will walk the Oatlands field later today to determine reservation slots for Friday if we have them. Our home farm field in Hamilton is closed for the season.
Have a berry great day everyone 🍓

Strawberry update for Thursday, June 17
The season is still going! I am amazed at our plants that keep producing crazy good berries. We’ve had a mini resurgence in the field but it won’t last that much longer....I don’t think. We are going day by day and we are so lucky to be having incredible weather.
Upick:
Our Oatlands location sold out quickly for Thursday as we had limited reservations available. I’ll walk the field on Thursday evening to determine what the situation will be for Friday. Our home field location in Hamilton is closed for the season.
Pre-pick @ Gilbert’s Corner
I will be bringing berries from the field at about 10:30. I’ll do an update on Thursday morning to report on volume/quality etc but hopefully we get a similar amount to what we had on Wednesday.
Thanks everyone for hanging on with us as we finish up this amazing strawberry harvest season!
Have a berry good evening 🍓

We picked extra as the picking was way better than expected.
Wow Strawberry update for Wednesday, June 16
Wow! We’ve had a mini-resurgence out in the strawberry field at Gilbert’s Corner (39958 John Mosby Hwy, Aldie) Actual photo below taken with my iPhone 11 five minutes ago as I brought a full truck load up from the field. Our pro-pickers are working their magic this morning and have picked a lot more than I expected. We will have these available as always first come first served and I will be bringing additional berries up from the field around 12noonish. These are incredible late season berries but they do need to be eaten ASAP or capped and frozen as they are a bit softer because of recent rains. We are currently baking donuts as well with flavors of the day being strawberry, lemon and cinnamon sugar. We will be here until about 3 and I will update post if we sell out before 3.
Upick: our Oatlands location is sold out for today and picking is now day to day. I will walk the field later today to see if we can have limited reservations for Thursday.

Strawberry update for Wednesday, June 16
Strawberry season isn’t over yet! We are in bonus time!
Upick: our Oatlands location in Leesburg will be open by reservation only and limited reservations are now available on our website for Wednesday. We are day to day at this point. The picking experience isn’t what it was in its peak but we have some nice berries that shouldn’t go to waste. Pickers will have to have patience and grade the berries as you pick as recent rains have taken a bunch unfortunately.
Our home farm location in Hamilton is closed for the season.
Gilbert’s Corner: we will have some limited amount of pre-picked strawberries starting about 10:30 on Wednesday. I won’t know how many until morning but there will at least be some and some is definitely better than none. We will be baking donuts and have Jam and Gruto’s vanilla ice cream available
Have a berry good day today everyone 🍓

Strawberry update for Monday June 14
Recent rain has made life for the late season Strawberry difficult.
-Our home farm field location in Hamilton is now closed for strawberry picking for the season. Next up is upick pumpkins in the fall (over 75 varieties planted this year!)
Oatlands in Leesburg- Closed on Monday and I will be thoroughly walking the field tomorrow to see if there are any days of picking left. Stay tuned for an update
Gilbert’s Corner prepicked: closed and tbd on any possible last strawberry goodness.

Strawberry update for Sunday June 13
I just brought up a truck load of fresh picked strawberries at Gilbert’s Corner. The pic below was taken about 5 min ago with my iPhone 11 and they are the actual berries. No fakes here. About 12:15ish we will have a dozen or so more buckets come up from the field. These are nice late season berries but they are soft because of recent rains and should be eaten ASAP or capped and frozen.
We have our crazy good strawberry jam still in stock and poppyseed dressing is quickly selling out. This will be the last week of the strawberry donut likely but we’ve introduced the lemon flavored donut and have the very popular cinnamon sugar as well today.
Upick:
It’s day to day. I’ll walk the fields tonight and determine if we have another day of picking or not.
I’ll post later tonight the current status of the rest of our season.
Have a berry great day everyone 🍓

Quick update for Saturday June 12
Good morning from a wet Gilbert’s Corner field!
A lot of rain the past 24 hours but there is a reason our pro pickers are pros. They have been picking in the wet for a good while this morning and we’ve got some nice ones (pictured below) however they are wet and need to be refrigerated/eaten ASAP or capped and frozen. It’s 10:15 now and I’m bringing 3/4 of a truck load up to the tent and then about 12 noon there will be a dozen or so buckets more.
We’ve got lots of jam/poppyseed dressing for those that want to stock up for a long offseason. And donut flavors today are strawberry, lemon and cinnamon sugar
See my previous post about upick and end of the season.
Have a berry great day everyone 🍓

do people have a preference on one location over the other for picking strawberries?
14 year old’s birthday cake every year! (Wegmeyer strawberries, Angel food cake, and fresh chocolate whipped cream)
Had a MAGICAL time this evening!!! So much deliciousness...thank you!!
Thankful today for juicy strawberries, ice cream, and a stuffed strawberry friend to take home!
hi there, can we reserve for next day or same day only?
Thank you Wegmeyer Farms for providing luscious berries. We are enjoying the fruits of your labor. Strawberry pies, milkshakes, and jam
Is Hamilton going to be open for reservations tomorrow (Friday, May 21st)?
Beautiful and tasty strawberries from Gilbert's Corner. I don't know how you did it with the weather as freaky as its been. I know other farms that pretty much lost their strawberry crops this year. I'll be making another trip when these are gone and I don't think that will take long.
Strawberries coming in mid-May? Yay! The strawberry season is so brief and a fresh picked strawberry is so good, don't miss it!
