Weâve been a little quiet latelyâbut not intentionally.
Weâre heading into our third week of fishing, and this season has been wild, busy, and incredibly wet. Most of the photos we share are from those beautiful days when we can safely pull out our phones and cameras without worrying theyâll be ruined. The reality has been layers upon layers of clothing, rain gear, dry boxes, and long days in the elements.
Weâre open five days a week, twelve hours a day. Weekends havenât been for restingâtheyâve been spent repairing gear, preparing for the next opener, and keeping fish camp running.
I never know how much of the hard parts to share, but this feels like one worth talking about. Weâre tired. Weâre hoping for a fishing day where we donât end up soaked to the bone. Itâs been a cold Alaskan summer, and while itâs tested us, itâs also reminded us how grateful we are.
Weâre surrounded by family and some of our dearest friends, and together weâre doing everything we can to take care of one anotherâstaying safe, eating well, looking after our mental health, and showing up each day ready to do it all again.
This life isnât always glamorous, but itâs one weâre incredibly thankful for. Thank you for following along, cheering us on, and supporting our familyâs fishery. More to come soonâwe just wanted to check in. â¤ď¸
