Come and enjoy our wines in a friendly and casual setting, where there are no wrong answers about wine. Peninsula Cellars is a family run winery located on the Old Mission Peninsula, just north of Traverse City, Michigan. The region lies along the 45th parallel, halfway between the north pole and the equator. This gives the region its distinct micro-climate, that makes it perfect for growing high

quality wine grapes. Our philosophy toward wine making has always been very minimalistic, allowing the regional expression of the fruit to come through. The sun, the rain, the wind, and the soil, all under the watchful eye of the grower, are what make our wines so good.

Our favorite plow-master is currently waylaid at the Kroupa farm between the county plow truck (stuck in the drifts/ditch on the left—West) and the giant tow-truck (stuck in the drifts in the middle of the road to the East). Alas, it looks like we won’t be able to open up the tasting room, after all, today. It’s a very clear reminder to be patient, stay off the roads, and give the road crews plenty of time and space to do their work. We look forward to getting back to work on Wednesday!

Getting a little stir-crazy from all your time waiting out the storm? We’re hoping to re-open at noon on Tuesday 3/17, but we’ll play it by ear and see how the road conditions look by the light of day. We definitely want to give the road crews plenty of elbow room to work their magic and I suspect we’ve got a fair bit of shoveling to do before we can welcome our guests.
