Some Pics from our yearling pen this morning….. and yes that wide sucker is only a yearling and he’s an SS with a negative GEBV 💥 I think he deserves a few ladies this fall! What do you all think?

Hunters paid for a grant claiming game agencies need more DEI. Grant F22AP00687 gave $74,586 to the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies for a DEI self-assessment of wildlife agencies. The report says WAFWA needed more DEI because wildlife values are shifting away from traditionalists, people who believe animals exist for human benefit and use, and toward mutualists, who believe wildlife should have rights equal to humans.

The report even included complaints that agency leadership was made up of “white, male, consumptive recreationists,” as if hunters, anglers, and people who actually support using wildlife are the problem inside agencies funded by hunters and fishermen. Call me crazy, but I want people who believe in hunting running the agencies that regulate hunting.

This grant also pushed DEI succession planning, DEI in hiring, DEI metrics in performance reviews, diverse interview panels, and more diverse leadership. Another employee comment said anti hunting groups should have more “ownership of agency direction and prioritization.”

So to anyone defending this wasteful spending, defend this. This money is supposed to recruit hunters, shooters, anglers, and support conservation. Instead, it is being used to reshape game agencies around DEI and bring more anti hunting voices into the agencies that control our hunting laws. That is our own money being used to change the culture of the agencies that regulate us. And by the way, WAFWA is an NGO full of former heads of game agencies. The people pushing this used to run your state game agency.
