Last spring’s flooding hit many in our district, including a local cervid farmer who reported everything to his Department of Agriculture representative as instructed.

He later learned another agency required separate reporting and there was discussion of potential fines.

House Bill 665 simply ensures that during a declared state of emergency, cervid farmers only have to report to one agency. Government can coordinate behind the scenes — farmers shouldn’t have to navigate multiple reporting requirements in the middle of a crisis.
