Here is our harvest list for the Farm Stand Trail event tomorrow!

Salad mix, Romaine hearts, snack peppers, grilling peppers, broccoli, hakurei turnips, winter squash, radishes, carrots, lots of different types of cooking greens, arugula, herb bouquets, sweet potatoes, pickled okra, cherry tomatoes, eggs, spinach plants, and more!

Consider starting your adventure with us as we will have fresh coffee from Batteaux as well as beans and ground coffee to go. All natural whipped tallows, as well as naturally grown garlic, courtesy of Muddy Waters Studio.

If it’s raining, just join us in the barn at 395 Clayville Rd! We can’t wait to see you! Thanks for supporting so many local businesses tomorrow from 9 to 1.

So what is Wes up to?

Remember that cover crop we planted? Some of it is going to seed so he is chopping off a bit of the tops and all that great biomass will go into the soil!

It should grow a bit more before it gets cold and most of the plants are not winter kill. We will mow it again next year and then cover it with a silage tarp.

All of this is done to improve the health of the soil of our newest bed and to enhance YOUR health when you eat crops grown in that space! ☺️

All right friends, this is what you can expect tomorrow at our Farm Stand from 9 to 11 at 395 Clayville Rd. in Powhatan!

Arugula, small amount of salad mix, sweet potatoes, butternut and acorn squash, pickled okra, green tomatoes, kale, collards, brussels sprouts greens, broccoli greens, broccoli, smaller amounts of beets and carrots, radishes, a few pumpkins the vine borers didn’t get, hakurei turnips, and eggs! Woohoo!

As always, we will have locally roasted coffee from Batteaux and local whipped tallow from Muddy Waters Studio. Come shop local with us!

When it comes to cooking greens, I admittedly like them all! 😍

What do you like best among collards, kale, broccoli greens or brussels sprout greens?

Good news is we will have all four at the Farm Stand tomorrow, Saturday, 9 to 11 AM at 395 Clayville Rd. 

Oh, and lots of arugula, which is technically a tasty cooking green too!
