Perchance Chardonnay did not happen by accident.

It begins at Beckstoffer Carneros Lake Vineyard, where cool Pacific air moves in from the coast each morning, slowing the growing season to a pace that cannot be forced. The vines respond with fruit of uncommon depth, developing gradually over weeks that feel unhurried.

The result is layered with sun-ripened apple, ripe pear, and the subtle warmth of fourteen months in new Burgundian barrels. It finishes long and quietly. The kind of wine you return to.

There is a craft to knowing when to begin.

At Beckstoffer Melrose, the Sauvignon Blanc harvest begins in the hours before dawn, when the air is still cool, and the fruit holds everything the season has given it. The timing is deliberate. The work is done by hand. Nothing about the process is incidental.

Perchance Sauvignon Blanc is not made. It is gathered from old vines planted in 1990, from a site recognized as Vineyard of the Year by Wine & Spirits.

Every detail is considered. Every decision is deliberate. And when the moment arrives, there is nothing left to do but begin.

The cellar is still. The whites are resting.

In the vineyards, the Cabernet Sauvignon is nearing its final weeks on the vine. At Beckstoffer Georges III and To Kalon, each day brings the fruit closer to its moment, developing concentration, structure, and balance beneath the late-summer sun.

It is recognized when the moment arrives.
